Notes: Situational Ethics is our series of imperial stouts, each aged in different barrels. You're enjoying the Oloroso sherry barrel-aged version. This contains cacao nibs, dark cherries and Ugandan vanilla beans.

500mL bottle picked up at the brewery. Released 12/15/18. Served in a Monday Night snifter. Enjoyed 12/26/18.

Pours midnight black with a generous tan head. The dense froth fades to a narrow collar without leaving any lacing behind.

Aromas of sherry, chocolate covered cherries, caramel and wet wood. Smells amazing.

Tastes absolutely decadent. Bittersweet pure dark chocolate, tangy sherry-soaked dark fruit skin, woodsy barrel, dark cherry preserves, vanilla kissed oak, some roasty malt character and a less-than-expected nip of alcohol.

Creamy, full body with a gentle rumbling carbonation. The rich, bittersweet aftertaste is like dark chocolate fudge with a sherry soaked cherry glaze.

Monday Night continues to impress with their Situational Ethics series. This variant marries sherry barrel with chocolate cherries to outstanding effect. This is one of the best chocolate cherry stouts that I’ve had & well worth a try if you’re presented the opportunity.
