My brother brought me a 6 pack of different beers from this brewery when he came home to Cleveland to visit from Atlanta a few weeks ago. Thanks Mark, you rule! Poured into one of my pokal glasses, this beer pours a fairly cloudy, hazy medium golden color with a nice, fluffy white head that's about an inch when first poured that settles to a good solid 1/4 inch thick after the beer sits for a bit. Good retention and lacing here. Aromas of wheat, ginger, and a sort of herbal/grassy citrus. Has a good, crisp, wheat, somewhat bready and slightly toasted malt sweetness upfront with a slight hint of caramel that immediately gives way to a very nice ginger note that is rounded out with a slight citrus hop bitterness. Has a crisp, yet smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a very clean finish. Just an absolutely fantastic beer on this fairly humid and warm, late summer night here in Cleveland. I am very happy I got to try this. One of the best beer's of this style I have ever had. Worth a try for sure. I'll have to have my brother get me more of this!

I normally like ginger in most things, I guess I just don't like it in my beer...

Poured into a Haw River Farmhouse Ales teku glass. No freshness date.

A- Pours a semi-hazy medium amber color with a 1/2 inch white head that retains decently before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and very little surface foam. Non-resilient lacing.

S- Lots of coriander in the nose with some yeasty quality coming through.

T- Also very coriander forward but it's not overbearing. Strudy wheat malt flavor plus some orange peel.

M- Tangy and sharp with medium carbonation and a lightish body.

O- Pretty one-dimensional but tasty enough for a wit. Not as bad as the score would lead you to believe. Ah, I was wondering why there was more zing than usual for the style: it's brewed with ginger. I didn't detect it in the flavor but you can sure tell by the mouthfeel.

Slightly cloudy golden pour. Normal head volume, poor lacing and retention.

Nice classic Belgian Wit nose of light citrus (lemon, orange), rich coriander notes, but light on banana notes until it warms. Also present is a spicy ginger undertone.

Almost medium bodied with a texture approaching creamy. Normal carbonation with a touch of effervescence in the middle and a nice burst in the finish.

The flavor profile is outstanding. It is intense (ginger forward), complex and reasonably balanced. It begins with a tart burst that is mostly lemon. The lemon slowly yields to orange and banana notes. In the middle, ginger comes forward with a coriander and clove background. The finish is a slow fade of these flavors with phenolic clove becoming more noticeable.
