A juicy IPA. Pirates love citrus fruits almost as much as they love blood. If the phrase “you are what you eat” is true, then pirates are blood oranges. If the phrase “you are what you drink” is true, you’re about to be an incredibly delicious, juicy hop bomb of an IPA. We add bits of real blood orange to every beer, so you know it’s good.

I got a can of this beer from my bestie from Charlotte, NC whom got it from a beer of the month club mixed pack. It poured a hazy amber with off white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had subtle blood orange notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet malt base with blood orange citrus presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a burnt orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of oranges, little else. Taste is blood oranges, light malts, mild bitterness for a DIPA. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

Appearance: Clear amber, pours to a frothy off-white head with very good retention
Aroma: Citrus fruit and a hint of pine.
Flavor: Orange from blood oranges is prominent. Touch of caramel malt. Moderate bitterness. Slight alcohol flavor.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Sweet to start by semi-dry at the finish. Bitterness lingers well after the finish.
Overall: Nice looking beer after the pour; head retention is quite good. Heavenly citrus aromas with a touch of pine initially. Has full bodied, creamy mouthfeel that is silky smooth. Blood oranges compliment the hops combo. Moderate bitterness contributes to good balance but does linger well into the finish. Excellent Imperial IPA
