Big, bold, black, and aged in brandy barrels from Copper & Kings. This unusual lager style has many similarities to Imperial Stouts. A lengthy conditioning period creates a silky smooth chocolatey mouth feel enhanced by the use of oats and brown sugar. Noticeable sweetness gets balanced by roasted malt and hop bitterness. Additional flavors include brandy, vanilla, and oak. Copper & Kings is an American brandy distillery located in Louisville, Kentucky.

Bomber poured into teku
Thin brown liquid, quickly settles to a taupe ring around the edge
Aroma of raisins, roasted malts
Bit of brandy taste but not overpowering , alcohol lingers on the back of the tongue
Nice beer

Bottle pour to taster glass, very dark brown, minimal head. Nose of roasted malt, not much else. Taste carries some wood, bitter, some maltier flavors, but not getting much brandy.

Drank from a 1 pint .9 fl. oz. / .5 liters bottle purchased at Cambridge Wine & Spirits, Cambridge, MA
Served in a snifter
Dark brown, medium viscosity body. The liquid was topped by an inch-tall, tight, creamy and frothy cap of khaki colored foam. Excellent head retention. The crown slowly fell to a thick, bubbly, lasting cap. A wall of spotty lacing cascaded down the glass.
The nose was pretty subtle initially. Yeasty and dry. Bit of roast. The roasty notes intensified as the head died down. Touch of bakers chocolate. I definitely did not pick up any brandy however. As the beer sat, the aroma definitely improved. Powdered cocoa notes came forth. Good amount of brown sugar-like sweetness. Touch of chocolate fudge too. The booziness also intensified.
Roasty notes dominated in the flavor profile. Loads of booze as well. Some bitter espresso in the center. More roast on the back end and in the finish. The beer finished with big boozy notes, a subtle earthy hop presence and some lingering ashiness.
Frothy and fluffy mouthfeel. Medium bodied for the style. Perhaps a touch thin. The liquid contained a fine, soft, zippy, effervescence.
I have been pretty underwhelmed with almost every one of Jacks Abby's Framinghammer variants, but this just might be the most disappointing release to date. Not only did the beer contain hardly any brandy character but it seemed rather rough around the edges. I think more time in the barrels could have helped this tremendously.

500 ml bottle was poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: A one finger mocha head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pitch black color with no vision of anything. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla, brandy, grape, mild warm alcohol, and a little roastiness.
Taste: Milk chocolate, cognac/brandy barrel flavor, vanilla, roasted, mild warm alcohol, and light bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Silky smooth, medium bodied, light boozy alcohol, low to medium carbonation, and light bitterness.
Overall: Not the best of the variants, but still good.
