Sub-par offering from a brewery I otherwise like. Not to style - it seems they tried to over-hop this as they do other beers. Disappointing.

Poured from the can. After a huge Italian meal, probably should have gone with something lighter. Brown hazy color. Similar to brown ale.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great beer, but it is by no means a kellerbier. If this is your first introduction to the style keep looking.

This is an outstanding Vienna Lager but there is nothing Kellerbier about it. If it was simply marketed as a Vienna lager I would've rated it much higher.

Unfiltered? It's crystal clear. It's totally laking any yeast mouthfeel or mild fruit complexities the yeast gives most kellerbiers.

I definetly put this beer on a pedistle and was totally let down on my quest for an easily available kellerbier...I guess I'll stick to crossing my fingers when I walk into my local biergarten.

16 oz can, dated 1/29/18.

I poured this in two separate 8 oz servings. The first pour was clear and light amber with a medium sized white head. Good head retention with spotty lacing. The second pour was noticeably more turbid with a slightly darker shade of amber. Less of a head the second time around as well.

Toasted bread, grains, caramel, and apple aroma. The fruit really caught me off guard, as it's not hidden at all, but it gets overshadowed by the toastiness of the malt.

More toasted malt in the flavor but it's more subdued than in the aroma. Light caramel smoothness and just barely some faint earthy hops for balance.

Smooth and medium bodied. A little on the sweet side in the finish. A solid yet unspectacular Vienna lager.

Pours a light copper color with about a finger of head. The nose is lightly bready. The flavor follows the nose with a crisp, dry finish. The body is light for a Vienna but right on for a Kellerbier.
