Green hued, pale gold color. Light haze. Tight bubbled head which settles to film. Some thick streaks for lace.

Fresh and clean smell of well balanced pale malt and the (Citra) hop.

The starts and ends with non-grainy pale malt flavor with light sweetness. The hop is definitely used as a spice, not a bludgeon. The combination makes an easy to drink, yet flavorful beer. The body is richer than most lagers, but that adds to the appeal.

Poured from a can dated 1/23/19 into the test glass.
A - Nice clarity, straw colored backdrop, gentle carbonation, with a very thin cap
S - Cut grass, lemon zest, unsulphured pineapple.
T - Follows the nose quite well, with the light malt base adding some pleasure.
M - Crisp, with a semi tart start, then a shift through the tropics, ending in a delightful dry finish
O - A very good offering, hops are on full display, with a delightful mouth feel.

Had this a few weeks ago on draft and it made me miss the hoppy, yet balanced, brews of just half a decade ago. Can always trust Jacks Abby.

A- Crystal clear golden body like a jewel poured from the tallboy into a tulip. The cap is a finger high with a very foamy, large bubbled texture. Fair head retention before a large ring leaves spotty lace webs.

S- A medium level of Citra hops makes up most of the aroma as the Citra brings notes of citrus, dank herbs, tropical fruits and floral hops. The dankness opens things up as there are notes of mango, weed, onion, melon, tangerine, peach, bubble gum and grapefruit. Definitely on the softer side as the dankness and tropical things make up much of the aromatics. Hints at some pale crackery grains.

T- Definitely changes from the aroma quite a bit as the bitterness, more pale grains and some shifting of the hop balance takes place. I would say soft melon and mango still come out first but they are quickly taken aback by grapefruit with the peel bitterness, full flavored crackery, bready and slightly nutty grains, tangerine, peach, dank herbs, lime, bubble gum, mint, pine and floral hop notes. Lots of varied and balanced flavors.

MF- Towards the lighter side with a fluffy and slightly fizzy foamy texture. If anything this is where the beer lacks a bit. High level of carbonation and a bitter grapefruit ending.

Has a similar flavor to the classic Hoponious Union with more of the Citra profile and definitely more malt influence with crackery, bready grains. Not gonna satisfy those that need the hugely bitter, powdery, burning hop juice but in the end there is a bold Citra flavor with balance from the grains and yeast.

16oz. can served in a wilibecker. Canned 1/23/19. Pours a translucent straw gold with a slight chill haze to the clarity and a loose, fizzy, 1/8th inch off-white head. Nice notes of citrus on the nose with a hint of grassiness that follows. Taste is a little dull - crackery malts, followed by grassy notes, followed by a kiss of citrus. Mouthfeel is light in body with a pleasant, even carbonation. All and all, a bit too watery and diluted for my preference.

A: The beer is slightly hazy light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that quickly settled down, leaving specks of bubbles on the surface and a minuscule collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of limes are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell as has moderate flavors of lime citrus and a light to moderate amount of associated bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This lager does a very good job at showcasing aromas and flavors of limes from the Citra hops.

Comes in a clear bright yellow color with just a touch of suspended haze, lots of rising bubbles, and a small white head. Excellent retention and rings of lacing.
Smells like fresh orange and lemon zest, orange juice, fresh cut grass, white grape, hay, honey, and white cracker.
Tastes like freshly zested orange, lemon, and grapefruit; fresh cut grass, white grape, honey, hay, clove, and white cracker. Citrusy and grass upfront, and very crisp and clean and lightly dry.
Medium-light mouthfeel, but enough rolling carbonation to make it feel pillowy on the tongue. An ideal pale lager mouthfeel.
An amazing new beer from Jack's Abby! An interesting crossbreed of traditional German pilsner and dry-hopped American pale lager.

One of the better "hoppy lagers" I've tried. Great job of dry hopping a lager.
