Inspired by Slovenian hops and rustic amber lagers, the teams at Jack’s Abby and Human Robot collaborated to brew this limited lager featuring Czech floor malts and open fermentation. Life and Lager are both best enjoyed a little SLO.

16 oz can canned 1/3/24 into a mug.
L: SRM 13 Pours 95% clear caramel with a 1/4" creamy white head that has VG retention, low carbonation, some light broken lacing.
S: Very light malts, a somewhat difficult to describe funky industrial diesel earthy hop note.
T: Sweet bready caramel malts. floral, background hop funk, distant fruit notes, a hint of cereal grains, light orange sensations, grains emerge more with warming and there is a malty cereal grain aftertaste.
F: Gently brisk then smooth & almost slick medium bodied feel and a medium length lightly drying finish.
O: The somewhat curious aroma adds the the floral tastes here. It has a lovely sweet malt taste and a fairly smooth semi-clean finish. A lightly rich Lager that is very good in its style.

Pours a frothy foamy 1 finger head with moderate retention, spotty lacing, mostly clear slight haze amber to slight rosy color
Nose cereal grains and lager malts, some straw, a little corn, slightly sweet toasted biscuity malts, hint of a fruity note, and some herbal hops
Taste a bit of sweet malt, grainy cereal, mild toasted biscuity malt with a hint of sweet bread, fair herbal hops getting more spicy as it goes, soft lager, med bitterness, drier semi crisp finish with long bitter spicy hops lingering
Mouth is med to a bit lighter bod, very soft, med carb
Overall not bad, a western Europe style amber lager, so Slovenian would fit that bill

From a 16oz can dated 1/3/24 into a 20oz "pint" glass.
Pours an essentially translucent golden orange with about a finger and a half of white head. Excellent retention and lacing.
Getting some floral notes on the nose as well as some bready crackery aromas.
Bready, cracker, corn on the taste. Some very subtle bitter/floral hops in there as well.
Pretty full-bodied for a lager with a fairly crisp finish. Medium to high carbonation. Bread with a little bit of stickiness in the aftertaste.
Super solid lager by a couple breweries who know what the heck they're doing.

On tap at The Sheffield in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a light golden rustic amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells super crispy and clean, with bready and crackery malt, and spicy hops.
The hop character here is really nice, spicy, and minerally, with a crackery, clean, and not too sweet malt backbone.
This is very crisp, smooth, with a nice bite on the finish. It’s very, very drinkable.
Jack’s Abby and Human Robot are definitely two all star breweries, so it’s cool to see them collaborating here.
