Style: American Pale Lager

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.70%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This lager harmoniously combines lager yeast fermentation and west coast IPA hops. Our India style Pale Lager is like a traditional IPA but with a twist - it’s fermented cold and aged for extended periods. A blend of classic American hops creates a huge tropical fruit and citrusy hop aroma. A dry finish accentuates the pleasant bitterness and hop profile. Hoponius Union uses locally grown dehulled spelt from MA.

P- Poured from a 12 oz can,into a Cigar City pint glass.First beer sampled from the Jack's Abby variety 12 pack.Date on the 12 pack is MAR 24 2017.

L- Thin soapy white head with low retention, and sticky lacing.Slightly hazy straw colored body, with moderate clarity.Low amount of carbonation, and low amount of sediment.

S - On the nose I get bright tropical hop notes consisting of mango. Also getting bright citrus hop aromas consisting of tangerine, orange, and grapefruit hop notes.Trace elements of bready biscuit malt notes as well.

T- The palate follows the nose with grapefruit and tangerine citrus up front, some tropical mango in the middle, and some bitter pine hops, balanced by bready malt on the back end.

F- The mouth feel is light bodied with a sticky texture.Minimum amount of oxidation on the tongue, with a dry yet easy finish.

O- This is a really good IPL.Nice easy drinker with just enough hoppy bitterness. If you like a hopped up pale lager, that is light on bitterness,I recommend you give it a try.I will definitely drink this one again in the future.

Look- nice lacing. Good head retention. Well carbonated. Clear light Amber color.

Smell- sweet grains almost rice like

Taste- crisp hop bitterness. Sweet grains. Spicy finish. Alcohol is hidden and this is dangerously drinkable.

Overall- really excellent beer. Very drinkable

Agree that it's between an IPA and pilsner. Refreshing.

Poured from tap into pint glass in Boston. Not much Head, but fresh solids flavor. FANTASTIC beer.

12 ounce bottle poured into a tulip glass.

L--Clear golden color with about an inch of off-white head that dissipated to a film, but left some lacing.
S--Very citrusy, with a lot more yeast and malt than an IPA (which I guess it isn't, but that's my frame of reference).
T--Wow, very nice. Fruity, sweet and citrusy. Hops are definitely there, but not dominant.
F--Juicy & quenching. Could definitely have more than one on a warm day.
O--Excellent. Bought it at random in a sampler sixer and boy, am I pleasantly surprised.
