Style: American Pale Lager

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.70%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This lager harmoniously combines lager yeast fermentation and west coast IPA hops. Our India style Pale Lager is like a traditional IPA but with a twist - it’s fermented cold and aged for extended periods. A blend of classic American hops creates a huge tropical fruit and citrusy hop aroma. A dry finish accentuates the pleasant bitterness and hop profile. Hoponius Union uses locally grown dehulled spelt from MA.

Bottle from Redstone. Super easy drinking and very hoppy for a lager. Very impressive, especially because I am not usually a lager fan. I need to seek out more beers from these guys!

A- a bright gold with some haze. A billowing white head that laces fantastically.

S- bright citrus, a bit of resin, and crackery malts. A bit fruity.

T- An even mix of orange rind, , slight pink grapefruit, some mild resin, and crackery malts. Very, very tasty.

M- Smooth, but amazingly crisp and clean. Medium bodied.

O- It's fantastic, seek it out.

A 12 fl oz bottle with a manufacturing date of 1st December 2014 and poured into a pint glass (although I’d consider using an IPA glass for this next time).

Appearance: The beer poured a slightly hazy golden orange colour with a less than one finger white head that leaves some spotty lacing.

Aroma: Mainly citrus zest hops followed by some tropical mango and light pepperiness.

Taste: Light caramel malt flavours followed by some nice bitter citrus and grassy hops… orange and piney finish.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and dry, light to medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Overall: I am impressed. The world needs more lagers like this. It is far and away the best lager I’ve tried, and a very good example of what can and should be done with lagers.

Clear pale copper (SRM 9-12) with a slight, creamy white head that leaves a coating of lace below the lid of an HB stein.

Quick floral hops are replaced by grassy aromas and resin. Citrus zest leaves a light touch of lemon and orange, while peppery celery follows. Warmth brings out wet hay.

Quite bitter, yet somewhat balanced. Grapefruit and caramel work well together. A dry finish has modest bitterness and light, lingering effects.

Crisp and medium body with alcohol as expected. A satin texture is highlighted by fizzy carbonation.

This is a fine beer with which to decompress during a mild, sunny summer evening.

Bottle marked mfg1150607 at Lower Depths. Wow, really impressed, more so than with Mass Rising. Great aroma, bursting flavor and solid mouthfeel. Would definitely drink this often if available in my locale!

Poured from a 12oz into a pint glass

Look: Hazy orange, half inch foamy head, a lil lacing

Smell: slight citrus. Herbal and grassy notes

Taste: Much like the smell. Not really getting the citrus, but still herbal and grassy. Finishes dry and bitter

Feel: Really smooth. Nice carbonation

Overall: Really enjoyable. I usually tend to go for juicier ipas but this ipl hit the spot. Just a really tasty well balanced beer. Feel like this one begs to be sessioned. Would definitely get this again
