Notes / Commercial Description:
True Story! Running a brewery can be "bock" breaking. It's all worthwhile when you have the opportunity to share beer like this. Our Maibock/Helles Bock is deep golden in color with an intense malty almost grape like aroma and flavor. A light noble hop character balances the smooth sweet finish. A long lagering time makes this beer exceptionally drinkable for its strength. Don't be fooled by its light color.

This was poured into a pilsener. The appearance was a nice looking hazy yellow color with a super light carbonation seen rising to fill a quickly dieing white foamy head. Adequate foamy lacing graces the sides of the glass in a messy sort of way. The smell had a rich sweet malts, somewhat like sticky bready candy and a light crisp spicy edge to it. The taste was mainly the sweet malts through a sweet crisp biscuit-like edge. There’s a nice light sweet sticky aftertaste leading to a sweet wet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionable quality about it. There’s a nice soft creamy texture rolling over my tongue. Overall, this was a wonderful take on a Maibock Lager. I would definitely do this again.

Bought a bottle at the Beer Shop in East Longmeadow. Beer pours with a visible carbonation through a clear golden color. The head was quite large and took a long time to dissipate, leaving a thick retention and some patchy lacing on the sides. Aromas included an herby, earthy spice mixed with some fruity hops. Taste is really sweet with hints of honey wrapped some fruits, like apples, and hops. Great carbonation throughout drinking this beer; consistent visible carbonation and light body made this incredibly drinkable. Overall, a really good beer in terms of appearance, taste, and mouthfeel.

This is a big, bold, beautiful, mellow, malty bock beer that I truly enjoyed. It pours a crystal clear copper with an enormous bone white head that you can practically take bites out of. Very good retention; rings and puffballs of lacing specks as you drink it. The aroma is layered sweet and slightly grainy malt with a tinge of spicy backdrop that honestly may come from the malt as well. The flavor is the next step of this progression. Layers of intermingled hay, cereals, toasted/spicy malt, a touch of caramel, some molasses. The beer is light-medium bodied and quite drinkable with a super clean finish and medium carbonation that gives it a rich feel.

This is a very good beer in my opinion. Honestly reminded me of the first time I had Heady Topper. Not because it is the most shocking or big beer, but because there are so many facets of the showcased ingredient (malt here). Layers melting into one another, but easily distinguishable. A good many malt flavors and aromas, stopping just short of anything resembling roast. Looks, smells and tastes like a German beer (not that that specifically is the measure of a good beer) but definitely is bold and impressive. It really "pops." That said, I probably would rate it a touch higher on the whole if it wasn't quite as sweet. That is just my tastes, but after a while the sweeter end of the spectrum of malt on display made it a TINY bit less enjoyable to me than it would have been otherwise. Luckily it is a little spicy/dry/bitter at the tail end and that helped.
