Notes: We honor our Pops with this beer. His vision built the Leisure Time ice brand decades ago and inspired us to build Jack’s Abby as a family business. Leisure Time Lager is brewed with wheat and a blend of spices including lemongrass, coriander, orange peel and chamomile. A subtle spiciness balances the citrusy and floral hops added to the whirl and hopback. Relax and enjoy! Leisure Time Lager uses locally grown wheat from MA.

Picked up a bottle of this at Julio's, poured into a Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a crystal clear super light pale straw with a very nice two finger bright white head that fades to leave a nice thin white blanket and a good puffy halo.

S - Wow, okay. Its all quite faint but its all quite discernible. Light wheat grains and slight malt sweetness. Its not really typical malt sweetness but more of a honeycomb type sweetness. Light grassy and as someone else said I definitely get a slight herbal lavender note.

T - Woah, what is this? What is this. Crisp and clean, light grassy hops and sweet malts..not not really malts though its more of the honey. Crazy. Whats even crazier is the fact that I'm getting shockingly big lavender flavours. Soft flavours but all there, light flowery tastes. This is really nice.

M - Mouthfeel is maybe a bit too carbonated for me? Its super super drinkable but is brightly carbonated. Great drinking.

O - Overall this is an awesome beer from Jack's Abby. These guys make so many spot on beers and this beer is right up in line with them. Such a tasty drinkable beer. This really is super sessionable too, just gulpable. Wonderfully done.

Pours a slightly clouded gold, with a bubbly two finger head that recedes quickly. Leaves little islands of lacing behind.

Smell is floral hops, and not too strong either.

The taste blew me away. I had just finished a stout 15 minutes ago which may be affecting my palette, but I pick up honey, lemon, butter and biscuit, perfectly balanced.

Light bodied, crisp, drinkable.

This might just be the best beer I've ever had.

A: Vibrant, straw yellow with a bubbly, white head that builds and fades quickly. No lace or retention.

S: Wheat, light summer fruit, faint hops.

T: Delicious, slightly tart citrus and other light fruit, some grass, wheat. Crisp, clean, refreshing. Tons of flavor. No lingering, bad, sharp aftertaste as I expected from this style. While crisp, it's also smooth and sweet. Slightly fruity hops shine in the finish.

M: So smooth, so flavorful, so different from what I expected with this style.

O: An absolutely awesome beer that I will search out to drink again. I must say, while taste is very subjective, this is a very well-crafted beer so the few previous reviews that rate this below 3.5 must not be rating to style. Yes, an American Pale Lager isn't as great as all the IPA's you drink, but for what it is, it's a damn good beer.

Had in a 4 beer sampler at Jack's Abby. The beer had a clear golden color with a thin ring around the glass. Aromas included some wheat and bread with some of that chamomile as advertised. Taste generally follows the nose with a somewhat watery mouthfeel and decent carbonation helping to make the drink refreshing. Overall, I enjoyed it for its refreshing qualities.

It's been a long day of lots of yard work, built an actual hop garden in the ground, lots of other stuff, and it was a hot sunny day, so finally sitting down. Perfect time for "Leisure Time Lager".

It pours with vigor from the "pliny" like bottle, forces a nice creamy looking 1.5 finger head to rise to the occasion, and fade back at a med pace letting me enjoy its company for a bit. Just to be sure I get to enjoy it, it leaves some nice bits of lacing on the side so I'll remember it later. The beer is a super bright color, almost neon, mostly clear with a slight chill haze, with a bright lemonade yellow color.

When I waft my nose in it, a very nice malty and lager aroma greets me with kindness. it has some hints of a pilsner toasty malt aroma, remnants of a layered almost decoction like softness, but the definite base of wheat, almost toasted wheat but not really. There are some hints of spices, floral spices that could be from the yeast except that they say on the bottle they added the spices. Some lemon is the first thing to jump out, like lemony hops and lemongrass aromas. Some coriander and hint of the chamomile, and subtle floral hops. A nice citrusy light back end. All that aroma packed into a nice but subtle overall aroma.

Taste, I hope continues where the nose left off... and it does. Nice and light, very fresh tasting, and refreshing as hell. The first thing I get is the light lemony taste again, some lemongrass, hints of a citrusy rind, and light floral lemony hops. The spices again, very light coriander which also seems to add it's hint of bitterness. The chamomile floats its way in very lightly on teh back end once it survives the waves of the other flavors. The malts are there as well, they come in right after the lemon flavors and cut through the coriander, going through to the finish. It brings more obvious wheat, even more so than the nose. The wheat also brings more toasted flavors, almost a light pilsner like malt, with a juicy back end. The lager flavors round off the taste, with light fruity and a very nice light crispness. The finish brings a bit more bitterness, light floral hops and hints of lemongrass flavors, a bit of the spices, and a dry crisp lager flavor.

Mouth is lighter bodied, soft and crisp, with decent carb, maybe could have used a bit more carbonation.

Overall great, this is like the perfect summer beer. It brings the nice wheat flavors with citrus, coriander, etc, but does it super light and not over powering wheat and citrus. The lagering of it is really nicely done, and a great touch. The chamomile and lemongrass also add great summer soft flavors. It's so smooth and drinkable, I'm almost done with the entire 1/2L bottle already, just pounding through it. The only thing that I can complain about is maybe a bit more carbonation.

Another winner from Jack's Abbey, quickly becoming one of my fav breweries. How the hell did these guys come right out of the gate at full speed of awesome beers, and just lagering!
