this beer looks awsome but seems to have thin feel as well as less than desirable red malt flavor and hops. nose is ok but seems to thin overall to be a go to for me. flavors kind of muted.

Had it at Clover. Smells hoppy but tastes smooth. Hoo-boy!

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep amber color with a large dense off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, lager yeast, grassy hops and some citrus.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel and some citrus that are quickly followed by a heavy breadiness from lager yeast and a hearty malt character. The hops presence is strong but not over-powering and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, decent kick, good representation of style, this is a solid flavorful beer to drink for a while.

Light bodied with a gentle carbonation. Piney as the description says. This is much less red than I would expect for a “red IPL”. Nice and Piney but it begs for resinous hop notes to elevate it to excellent.

Serving: Bottle into snifter
Served: 8 Nov 2015

The last beer that probably fell through the cracks.

Appearance: Pours a distinctive amber color crowned with an off-white, 1.5 finger head.

Smell: Floral and pine hoppiness with a pinch of herbal spiciness to round it out, overlaid on a sweet caramel malt note.

Taste: Much the same as the nose, except that the hops are distinctively 'juicy', which is fantastic, since they don't get washed out by the bigger malt base. The beer finishes semi-sweet, I feel, since I didn't notice any strong bitterness or anything with the hops.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with medium-high carbonation. I thought the mouthfeel was okay, but I would have liked to see the carbonation tuned down just a pinch.

Overall: A good beer, and one that is certainly one of the better 'red IPLs' I've had. This is likely a good beer for introducing amber lovers to stronger, hop-forward beers.

A: crystal clear; amber colored; 1 finger light tan head that receded to a thin collar; very nice lacing;

S: floral, spicy, pine, a little burnt note as well which detracted from the overall;

T: floral with a little spice and caramel; mild bitterness and a little earthy on the finish;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; crisp; dry finish;

O: complex flavors; easy to drink;

look; medium amber with moderate carbonation, nice thick white 3/4" head, shrinks to a thin covering that stays,moderate lacing
smell; bold piney spicy hops, black pepper, hint of burnt rubber, calms down a little after initial few sips
taste; pine, bitter but juicy, nice smooth malt
feel; medium heavy but with a lot of carbonation feel, a tiny bit harsh at first but then carbonation calms down and feels balanced and more malty
overall; i really like this, reminds me of a rye ipa with a nice bitter hop kick, but smoother
