Purchased at the Bevie maybe 8 or 9 months ago, can't remember the cost. Poured into a tulip glass. Looks pretty much like a thick stout...almost black, with brown around the edges and with a finger of mocha head that sticks around pretty well considering the weight of this beer. Smell is great filled with bourbon, chocolate, and syrup, although lacking the coffee aroma that I expected. Taste also lacks coffee, but is more than made up for by the rest of the package...just a wonderful BA porter. Mouth feel is just right. Overall, a great addition to the JA BA Framinghammer lineup.

World class BA porter. Enjoyed three months after bottling. I was curious whether the coffee flavor would dominate the nose and taste but that wasn't the case at all. Aroma of wood, bourbon, roasted chestnuts, damp earth, coffe and licorice. Taste falls in line with additions of baker's chocolate, toffee and some of that exquisite bourbon-vanilla. Wish it was more of the latter but it's an awesome beer that shines as it warms. The coffee complements the flavors as opposed to dominating and it's a beautiful thing.

About 18 months old and the barrel, coffee, hops and deliciousness has all blended together so perfectly. While not a stout, I'll take this 10/10 over BCBCS (back when it was the gold standard for coffee beers). Carb is perfect and this just slides down the gullet, begging you to send more down. Hints of sweet vanilla, wood and bourbon compliment the perfect coffee addition. Green peppers? HELL NO. Seek out some vintages of this with no worries, turn on some October baseball, open the windows and enjoy life.
