Went here on a recent Sunday afternoon and was underwhelmed with the experience. The beer was great and I'm glad I came to the brewery because I got to try things that I haven't seen and don't think I'll see in stores like the Cucumber Basil Sour that was perfectly refreshing.

The establishment and actual beer hall is a great open space and impressive; I wish I had gone on a tour to see the entirety of it and to see the barrel room.

Before ordering, the server gave us specials but couldn't remember what they were or what was in them and looked back at the specials board (which we were reading anyways and she acknowledged) and described the caprese salad as having, "mozzarella, tomatoes, annndd something else". When we were served our food, the other server who delivered them said, "Can you believe there are two tabs open for Smith right now?" Could be confusing except that wasn't our tab, so while we got the right food, it was under someone else's tab and when receiving our check our waitress said to make sure it was right because she put everything on there from memory.

We ended up ordering the pretzel and the wings which were both lacking in flavor and portion. The pretzel was quite small and not worth $5 while the wings were too greasy and flavorless.

So while the beer is great, that's all I'd suggest because our experience was unfortunately underwhelming.

A bit of an unusual place that isn't entirely clear where to park and where the entrance is. Jack's Abby is basically a very large warehouse, with parking on one street and the entrance on the other. Good thing the side road doesn't have a lot of traffic because you really have to look closely at the entrance door to understand this situation if you're a first timer.

Instructions to head to the bar and order is a little unwieldy--I think a different system would be better. Also, the idea that you get half pours on BA brews in a flight is kind of silly. I'm not sure if this is MA law but it has to go.

This is a very large, bright, wide-open interior, with a retail section at the entrance, a massive two sided bar with doubled-up taps and a view of fermenters, and an even bigger communal seating area.

They have one of the largest selections of their own brews on tap I've seen at any brewery. Considering they had released the barrel aged Framinghammers a month or two before I arrived, the fact that they still had five of them on draft was phenomenal. We were also able to try a number of their standards and some unique twists on classic styles. It ran the gamut--for a lager house, that's just absolutely impressive.

Food is New England inspired with some twists on classics, including some Asian angles, all executed well, but not stellar.

Went in on a Saturday afternoon for the first time. Very impressive space with lots of seating. There were over 20 lagers on tap. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Highly recomended.

After visiting 8 breweries in the Boston area, Jacks stood out as the best for many reasons. The large open table seating encouraged mingling with other guests, the food was delicious and the service exceptional at tables and at counters.

The beer was consistently interesting, tasty and well-made. We tried 23 beers with not a stinker in the mix. All the traditional lagers were clean and spot-on for the style. The variants and barrel-aged lagers were delicious! We had so much fun at Jack's...leave plenty of time for your visit. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Stopped by for some flights and food. The beer is top notch as always. They had some nice brewery only offerings like Double BA Framminghammer which was a mix of brandy and bourbon Framminghammer. They also had a Cordon Rouge, BA Framminghammer with orange. Both were fantastic. They also had a really good wild ale called Cuvee D'Bandwagon.

The beer has always been great but the food was the real surprise. We had the pretzel, the chicken wings, a buffalo chicken pizza, and the scallops with risotto. They were all delicious. The scallops stole the show though. Sweet and very well prepared.

The space is very large and open. It's a brewery, restaurant, bottle shop, and bar.

The service was really good too. The server stopped by every ten minutes or so to check on us. Really attentive and offered great suggestions.

I wish I lived next to this place. I'll be heading back soon even though I'm almost two hours away.

The best part... Left with a crap load of BA Frammingahmmers and a growler of Orange Leisure Time.

There is no comparison between the old and new Jack's Abby locations. Clinton Street is an infinite upgrade even if you discount the restaurant and just look at the retail beer. The only limitation is the cooler - it remains pretty small, but there are ample beers available for 32 and 64 oz growler fills.

The vibe is fantastic - it feels like a lace you want to be. The servers are excellent - from the greeting when you walk in to the bartenders (I don't think it is a fun job) to the waitstaff. Seating is ample and communal which just adds to the beer hall feel of the place. You can easily see into the brewery from the oversized windows, and there is a nice street view from the majority of the tables. We've been twice and it was packed both times, yet it doesn't feel crowded.

The food - that copper oven they were so proud of is a thing of beauty and does pump out some great food. The wood fired chicken wings are tasty, but were inconsistent. Once they were nice and crispy, but once they were a little soggy (cooked, but not crispy). We've tried two pizzas and both were great, with the prosciutto and arugula being our current favorite. Smoke and Dagger braised beef goulash was a very good dish as well. I think the food is a bit on the pricey side - a little more than what I am used to paying for similar food. The beer is obviously plentiful, but you do need to sit and look at the choices carefully - some things you can get in tasters, some you can't. Not a big deal, you just have to spend a few moments with the beer menu. We were not refused "sip" sized tasters of anything.
