This beer was bottled in October 2015, so that probably reduced the flavor and smell. Looks great in the glass. Pours black with tan head. At more than 16 months old, this beer's aroma was nice but somewhat subdued. The coffee was definitely missing from the flavor and it was a little less peppery than I expected. There were decent chocolate notes and I could still pick up cinnamon. The peppers showed up late on the finish. Enjoyable but I think I missed out on a much better beer. Hopefully I'll find a fresher bottle someday.

Pours black with a cinnamon colored head. Smell is cinnamon, coffee, and coffee. The flavor is very cinnamon and coffee flavor with a lot of chocolate, as well. Vanilla and the peppers are there but not too noticeable. Little to no heat. Feel is kinda thin for the ABV. Pretty tasty stout overall though. I'd drink it again.

Bottled October 2015
In a snifter the beer was black with a small tan head.
There was a cinnamon and chocolate aroma, a hint of coffee.
Cinnamon taste up front, followed by chocolate. A little coffee showed up. Finally, some late pepper, which lingered.
A bit on the thin side and not as peppery as I expected. Maybe that's because it's 15 months old?

Amazing aroma of cinnamon and vanilla...a little dark chocolate too. The taste is chocolate and cinnamon mostly at first and then, literally as the description says, after my 3rd sip all of a sudden you notice the slight heat from the peppers on the back end. The pepper heat lingers a while after you finish the sip. Personally I like it a lot and this is the first beer ive had with this much peppery aftertaste. The beer is very well balanced and the flavors blend very well.. The only knock is that I get know hint of coffee anywhere. I don't think that's a bad thing but theres no need to list in the description. Amazing overall beer and would actively seek this out. perfect at room temp on a cold night like tonight.
