look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, hazy, gold in color, high carbonation, clear

Smell: apple, hay, and Belgian spices

Taste: apple, hay, and Belgian spices and sugars with slight earthy bitterness at the end

Mouthfeel: sweet with slight bitterness, medium-light bodied with low carbonation

Overall: I enjoyed this saison. It is above average and the bitterness at the end is just enough to balance out the sweetness. The alcohol is well hidden. I would probably pick this up again.

From the 2016 revival to benefit the pulse nightclub victims.
Pours a hazy golden blonde with a 3 finger frothy white head. Good head retention.
Aroma is very fruit forward. Galaxy hops are immediately present, big honeydew melon and tropical fruit. Would like a bit more saison character but very pleasant.
Flavor is an excellent balance between the peppery yeast and the fruity hops. Complex, certainly not a car wreck the way some dry hopped farmhouses can be.
Finishes dry and bitter, never thing though. I'd guess there are some adjunct grains in here to help with the mouthfeel.
Very good beer. Wouldn't mind this coming back for real in cans down the road...

You know how as a kid you have bad experiences and they haunt you the rest of your life? For example I remember a friend of mine Scott once laughed at 7th grade lunch and out from his nose came milk and pieces of hot dogs. For YEARS I was soured on the both of them, for YEARS the thought of consuming either was just digusting.

about 20 years later I had the adult version of hot dog and milk when on a brewery tour one company (quite famous and usually very good) served us their "experimental" Saison, brewed with hibiscus and peppercorns. Maybe it was because it had become like warm, maybe it was because it was stop #5, or maybe it's because drinking a beer brewed with stank flowers and table spices is just plain nasty, but for 2+ years I steered clear of Saisons. This is my reintroduction into the style.

Poured from a tribute bottle to the victims of the Orlando Nightclub shooting, really cool design with a silhouette of a city (I'm guessing Orlando) with a fading rainbow flag design down the right side.

Nice pour, thick fair weather cumulonimbus head is slow to retreat while the body fills in unfiltered golden honey.

Smells of Belgium yeast, hay some fruitiness. Maybe crab apple, aromatic tartness.

Taste is a knockout of Belgium spices, decent array of fruit flavors like licking an apricot or peach but not fully digesting the flavor.

Goes down smooth, no stickiness.

I like this, good stuff for a good cause

Cheers!

On-tap 7/30/13 at Pour Farm Tavern in New Bedford, MA, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a thin off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains spices, wheat, caramelized malts, Belgian yeast and some fruit.

T: The taste starts out with sweet flavors of spice, caramel and bananas. Then some breadiness comes in from Belgian yeast and a hearty malt character. The hops presence is mild complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a solid Saison to drink for a long time.

Got this as an extra. Strong on the nose - look and smell indicate that this should be a great brew - only problem is that it doesn't follow through on the taste. Strong on the tongue at first, but it loses that taste very quickly. Definitely an enjoyable beer, but wish the taste lasted longer.

Tap at kinsale in Boston.

Nice creamy head fades semi slowly with thick lacing, hazy golden color.

Nose saison, farmhouse, light yeast, light spices, rustic earthy malts, light citrus and fruit like apple and pear, light grainy malt.

Taste similar, juicy fruits, apple, pear, touch of citrus, light esters, dry farmhouse, a weird wheat like creamed wheat flavor, maybe oats? Light spices, bitterness, touch floral and lemony hops. Dry bitter finish with light spices.

Mouth is med bodied, decent carb.

Overall not bad, decent for typical saison, nothign really wrong, except a weird oat or cream of wheat flavor in the middle. Otherwise tasty.

22oz silver wax-dipped bottle served in a snifter.

translucent burnished gold pour yields a 2" frothy white head; average retention and lacing. decent nose good offers a fruity/yeasty presence out of the gate along with some spice and candi sugar.

flavor follows the aroma fairly closely. citric with apple and pear a bit of spice and a touch of candi sugar. it is on the sweet side but not overdone. medium bodied mouthfeel with some zesty carbonation.

overall, a very nicely done saison: tasty, interesting - bit of a different spin on the style - and enjoyable. doesn't move the eath but i'd welcome another glass.

Bottle from awesome girlfriend from a Boston bottle shop. Waxed bottle... and an awesome brass knuckles in the top on the cap of the wax. Never seen anything melted into the cap wax before. Nice!
Pours a light mustard color with a 2 inch head and some decent lacing.
Nose is a lot of lemon grass with a little bit of farm yard in it... almost a bit of brett nose.
Taste... is actually quite boring. Almost everything drops out, the lemon, the funk, all muted, but still there. Everything is toned down. Really disappointed in this. After all the reviews I was excited to try this.
Mouthfeel is quite nice... very creamy finish, mouthfeel is one of the best I have had in a saison. medium body.

overall though. disappointed.
