Served at The Lower Depths Kenmore Square in Boston on Marathon Monday in a 14oz glass, not a 16oz (notes written down as not to be on my cellphone in a busy bar). I haven't read any reviews but I was shocked this beer was only an 88.

A - Clear orangey hue with good light reflection. Stone white head that held thin bubbles on top of a thicker base head.

S - Heavy grapefruit hop scent, so pleasant. It reminds me of some of the best West Coast DIPAs around. Pierces your nostrils with pine smell.

T - Super nice pine sour hop taste with a pleasant bite that rivals the best West Coast DIPAs. There is enough malt in this beer to make the 8.5% alcohol very smooth, but in the end and rightfully so this beer is all about the hops. I drank a Notch Left of the Dial IPA after this and it altered my palate so much I couldn't even taste the hops. This is a well crafted fresh tasting DIPA.

M - Clean tasting, puckering sourness from the hops but never too overbearing. Smooth head that has a light bubbly texture to it.

O - Can't believe this beer is from east of the rockies. True high quality hop flavor and not much else to gripe about.

Appearance: The beer presents with a very impressive head capping the hazy amber liquid; sheets of lacing form as the beer is consumed

Smell: Pink grapefruit aromatics

Taste: A little biscuity, up front, and then the pink grapefruit flavors take over, bringing a lot of pith that maintains its intenisty through the finish'

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation

Overall: Very refreshing; among the better examples of the style and shows that East Coast breweries can brew a West Coast IPA with the best of them

L: Pale gold, decent clarity, white head that dissipates fairly quickly, medium-fast bubbles, some lacing along the glass.

S: Grapefruit, citrus, pine, some malt sweetness on the nose as it warms, inviting

T: Good bitterness that doesn't kill the taste buds, grapefruit and citrus as the predominant hop flavors with some light pine flavor, malt sweetness, some alcohol flavor but is not "hot" and compliments the other flavors.

F: Medium body, smooth, medium carbonation leaves a light tingle on the tongue with bitterness that doesn't over power the taste buds, but does linger a bit.

O: A solid DIPA that I would definitely get again. Wanted some more hop flavors, but excellent overall. Great color, aroma, and flavor that you would expect from a high quality, well thought out DIPAs.

Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass, could not find a born on. Pours a cloudy light orange with s half inch of off white head, that leaves some lacing. Smell is grapefruit, apricot, tangerine, mango, and some earthy grassy hops. Taste is citrus, Headyesk, with grapefruit giving it a bitter edge and tropical fruit mellowing out the edges. This is really nice, would drink this again no doubt.
