Notes: Warka Strong is a lager with a high alcohol content, which places it in the strong beer segment.

It is characterized by an original malty-hoppy flavor and a beautiful, deep, amber color. The uniqueness of Warka Strong is the result of the unique composition of two malts: light Pilsner, which gives it a beer character, and dark toasted, which adds a unique sweetish aftertaste and amber color. Warka Strong is a beer of excellent quality, which has enjoyed great popularity and recognition among consumers for many years.

ABV may also be 6.3%

The brew is clear dark copper, has an off-off-white head, rather high and some lacing.

The smell is mostly old grass and wet cardboard.

Extremly, nearly offending sweetness, cheap raisins, an insepid alcoholic flavor, nearly no bitterness.

Light carbonation, soft and boozy feeling, very sweet.

Nope, this is not my kind of beer, boozy, sticky and frankly quite uninteresting. I do not understand the ranking it got so far ...

Undecipherable can code; drank 5/27/22 @ the Yarchives.

See-through dull orange appearance.

A violent pour yielded a big white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.

Caramel & mild acorn notes in the nose.

Sticky, medium mouthfeel.

Caramel, acorn & faint oak flavors.

Malt forward and a bit much, but not bad. It will do in a pinch.

Poured from a 50cL bottle into a pils glass. This is the 6.3% ABV version.

The look is a dark gold/amber. Crystal clear, but not a lot of head going on here and what did form disappears basically immediately.

Smell doesn't have a lot going on, a fair amount of off flavor from lager yeast, but it could be an old bottle. Some pretty sweet malts here, possibly adjunct maybe not. Some hops aroma is detectable.

Taste follows the smell but a bit more complicated. At first it's more dry but it immediately gets more sweet right after a hint of hops. Slight off flavor but nothing ridiculous actually and it's a bit unusual, maybe some rose flavor in the sweetness. Actually quite interesting and relatively good for the whole lead up. Not super smooth but not super off either and pretty unique.

Mouth feel is a bit syrupy and thick, but not to the point that it's bad. If it was a bit more dialed back, and had more head retention it would be a nice creamy thick and hearty mouth feel but it's a bit too much.

Overall it's an interesting song lager. Much more going on from the yeast than your traditional "cheap" strong lager. It's pretty good but misses just a few marks. It makes for a pretty unique lager with only a few flaws. I'd give it a try if you like flavorful lagers.

Pours a dark orange tinged brown color. Clear, moderately effervescent. Thin sudsy head appears but almost immediately dissipates. Essentially no retention.

Aroma has notes of sweet bread, raisins, warm toffee and with some mild earthy hops on the back end. The nose, while sweet, actually is pretty nice.

The taste follows the nose with sweet bready malts dominating the profile along with notes of toffee, raisins, honey, and dark bread. It is sweet, but just barely avoids being cloying. Earthy, slightly spicy hop notes come through on the back end and linger somewhat into the finish. Feel is fuller bodied - about what you'd expect from a beer like this. But its still drinkable - its just a heftier drinkable. Medium carbonation. Semi-dry finish.

500 mL bottle.

This has one of the more interesting labels I've seen in a while with no less than two pictures of General Pulaski and descriptors such as, "combined species of barley," "essentially rich flavor," "classic recipe," and "bright from Pilsen & dark roasted."

Pours a medium amber color with brilliant clarity and a big creamy white head. Heavy, sweet, toffee-like malt dominates the aroma. The label lists Magnum hops but I can't find any. The flavor is rich and syrupy, yet somehow finishes light enough that it's not cloying. It's pretty clean, actually. Medium bodied.

My first review for the style will not be a repeat purchase for me, but I enjoyed it well enough. I also fear this one may have been a little past it's prime, but the best before date was too difficult to decipher. Zywiec Porter remains my favorite Polish beer.

500 ml bottle, ABV on the label says 6.3%, best before L0237616B0418 printed on the back label. Bought this one a couple weeks ago so I'm hoping it's not too old. Only says Warka Strong on the bottle cap and not on any part of the label for some reason. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a mostly clear amber color with about an inch and a half off-white head that stayed around for a long time. The brew smells like bready/grainy malt, caramel and some earthy/herbal hops. Taste is pretty much like the aroma, but there's also a bit of roastiness and a bit of sweet apple flavor noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit slick and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. For what it is, this is a nice brew. Worth a try if you get the chance! $1.99 a bottle.

the shops of kinsale have an abundance of polish lagers, and i couldn’t help myself, so this is number 3 of the trip, this is poor but is leagues better than tatra’s piwo mocne which was abhorrent, beer is a clear copper colour with a thick head that quickly dissipates, decent levels of carbonation within, super bready on the nose, brown bread, sourdough bread, but also very sweet, caramel, and some strange off metallic aromas too, beer is far too sweet, the honey like sweetness dominating the reasonably nice bready and biscuity malt flavours, those brown bread flavours still linger tho, not particularly boozey tasting although it is rather prevalent for its strength, light bodied, medium carbonation, a bit sticky and syrupy, it’s not good but it’s not terrible either, nie jest wstrętny i think you might say in polish

Warka Strong is crystal clear and medium amber in color bordering on copper. The head is cloudy, bone white, and decently lasting for a lager.
Warka's nose starts off smelling of a combination of bready, biscuity malts, and adjunct ladened sweetness. Yeah, definitely smells of corn. It's weird, but I'm also picking up honey, leather, and what could be a mild alcoholic spiciness. Truth is, these elements seem so out of place I'm not entirely sure how to interpret them.
Warka does have a smooth, rounded mouthfeel. It also has an interesting flavor profile. First up is corn flavored sweetness combined with brown sugar, caramel, and the dryness of toasted grain and soda crackers. Honey, leather, and slight alcoholic spice keep things somehow from becoming cloying and overly sweet. The finish is spicy and dry in nature.
Under other circumstances this might be an interestingly decent beer to drink. Somehow the honey, leather, and alcoholic spice just seem out of place. They certainly don't seem to mesh together as well as they could. I think it's that lack of balance as much as anything that throws me off here. Gonna have to give Warka Strong a pass.

From the half liter bottle with a badly written label - "Combined species of barley" on top with "Bright from Pilsen & Dark Roasted" on the bottom half -, it pours a clear amber with a modest off-white head, soon diminishing to a ring and continent. In the nose, it is a bit roasty with some caramel malt. In the mouth, it is malty with roast accents and caramel coming through.

(500 ml brown bottle, best before L8203616B0122; purchased single off shelf at Wine Legend... poured into 14 oz mug)

L: brilliantly-clear, dark amber-colored liquid; tight, bumpy, off-white foam, some thin lace rings after each hearty sip... top-up pour resets a more dense head, but it pulls away to a thin collar

S: rather caramel-forward, bread crust just behind; perhaps slight (baked) apple ester; little booze presence; overall intensity moderate

T: caramel and apple; subtly-toasty, moderately-dry finish, though some sweetness does linger... with each sip it gets maltier - more caramelly, but not bready - while a nutty undertone develops... just enough dryness and soft phenolic spice to cleave the sweetness a bit

F: loose foamy skin fraying out the edges of its lightly-rounded, light-medium body... finish does drop nicely, with only a slight residual syrupy drag, and soft spicy warmth stoking... as the carbonation gasses away, its body swells midway

O: kind of a malt liquor and pale doppelbock hybrid... simple, but not too shabby, I'd definitely get it again (1597)

From the bottle in a snifter. This solid Polish brew pours a
amber tinged golden color with a very nice head of white foam
that subsides to a very thick ring and light sudsy layer with very
nice lacing. Nose of toasted sweet malts with breaded malt
notes...minimal but clean. Flavors Exceed the expectations
with light breaded malts and a sweet caramel malt over a light
subtly toasted honey malt with very minimal hop notes. Nice mouth
feel; light body, smooth, quenching, refreshing, medium light
carbonation, and a very nice clean finish.

Nothing to hate and a lot to like. This one is perfect for the
summer sun or your next time grilling.

L: Pours with a very impressive white head and is a rich copper color, somewhere in between a yellow lager and a red ale
S: Malt sweetness, a tad aroma of spice, and the roast malt smell comes through
T: Bit of a roast malt sweetness but with a dry finish
F: clean and good carbonation

This beer is best served cold and with food. I had this with homemade pretzels and the combination went together quite well. The saltiness of the pretzels balances out the sweetness of the beer. This is a good beer, above the typical lager, and is worth trying for the sake of trying. Would I add this to my daily drinker selection? No, but I am glad I bought a 500mL bottle.

A- Never seen/heard of this before so thought I better try it out! Pours with a thick creamy off white head that retains quite brilliantly.....settling down into a dense foamy thick head over this medium colored amber brew. It is very clear overall and the carbonation is reasonably modest and the lacing is quite nice....several even ringed layers stick to the side of my glass. Well looking Lager!

S- Well this has an incredibly strong malty bread aroma.....like Marmite almost! There are underlying sweet yeast, caramel/toffee/molasses, some chocolate wafer and a finish that is sticky and lingers on the nose. I don't dislike it....just wasn't expecting it!

T- The flavors follow suit to the aforementioned aromas, with huge bready yeast, plenty of unfermented barley malt, big time caramel and/or toffee stickiness, hints of milky chocolate, vanilla creme filling and maybe some mocha nuances. This is just a malt bomb on the palate....Marmite affiliations go by the wayside....this is super creamy and rich....almost raisin like in spots....lingers on the palate too!

M/O- Smooth velvety carbonation with wee tight bubbles! Flows so nicely on the palate, I swear this is more like an after dinner dessert.....the alcohol is superbly well hidden and while this is richly flavored, I find it to be quite delectable and social....wouldn't mind having more than one of these in a sitting. I'm glad I decided to try this one and would definitely purchase again....a fine Polish gem!
