Notes: An occasionally released Double IPA, Sticker Fight is the big tropical fruity, juicy fruit, mango laden friend, you’ve always desired. The body is crisp, with just enough sweetness to counter the onslaught of aromatic and flavorful hops. Supremely satisfying, utterly demanded by fans.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a good-sized, tan head of foam. It smelled of pine, citrus and toasted caramel. Nice piney bitterness with citrus and sweet caramel.

Clear clean gold color with nice tight head and good lace. Grassy hop smells and taste. Straight forward IPA. Finishes bitter and dry. I've had more complex doubles with better balance. But it does pack a hop kick that is nice when you want that.

Had on tap. Cloudy gold with two fingers of foam. Smell burst forward with pineapple, star fruit, passionfruit, grapefruit, mango, orange, and hop bitters. Taste is similar, with the tropical fruits leading and citrus being zesty with the hops in the finish. Buttery malts underneath are a nice contrast to the dank vegetable hops. Feel is a little dry, smooth, but booze leaks out a little here and there.

From a 2.5-month-old can, pours a clear deep gold. Smell and taste are more malt than hops. Medium feel. Okay, probably a lot better when it was fresher.

Had this on tap at the Bulldog in Lowertown. The beer had a clear orange-yellow appearance with a thin head. The aromas were a bit too airy, but i could sense a slight orange-mango combination. The taste to the beer was bitter with some grapefruit. In terms of mouthfeel, it was lightly creamy. Overall, I enjoyed the mouthfeel the most.

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. Label advises to 'Do Not Cellar. Drink Fresh.'.
Clear, deep gold colored body. White head and cap stick around. Webs of lacing.
Aroma is dominated by juicy, tropical fruit hops. Also has a dank aspect.
Taste has the classic fruity/tropical hop bitterness and sweetness. Mango sweetness, awesome bitterness at the end.
Mouth feel is medium to full, almost pillowy. Good carbonation level.
Really nails the old school DIPA aroma and taste. Sweetness is certainly balanced by the bitterness.

Look: pours a crystal clear gold, with an apple off white head popping up top

Smell: Pineapple, passion fruit, some earthy sweaty dank character as well

Taste: Pineapple, and mango play on the palate, super good. The one critique I have is it seems a little boozy

Feel: slightly syrupy, medium to full, with some bitterness that hits the tongue ok the finish

Overall: This is well worth seeking out. One of the more tropical IPA I've had.

Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a snifter. Bottle date was absent, but I believe it was bottled 10/28/16.

A: Pours a clear, golden-orange color with a one-inch, foamy, white head with medium retention. Thin, white lacing throughout. Became slightly hazier with each pour, 3rd being straight haze.

S: Strong aromas of pineapple, orange, tangerine, and mango. Milder piney and earthy hop characters. Sweet and possibly caramel malt notes are in the mix as well.

T: Leads with grapefruit, orange rind, and tangerine with hints of pineapple and melons. Finishes with strong lingering piney and resiny hop bitterness. Somewhat boozy. Tropical fruit notes become more pronounced as the beer warms.

F: Medium bodied, smooth, and somewhat crisp with moderate carbonation. Finishes fairly dry.

O: Overall, a great DIPA. Initially the beer was somewhat overly bitter for my liking, but as it warmed the fruitiness and bitterness evened out and it became very well balanced. Booziness seemed to die down as well, but could just be my palate starting to fall victim toward the end of the second glass. Would definitely try this one again, but would like to try it fresh after bottling.

Clear golden color with a finger of head that settled to a thin cap. Moderate dank aroma but has some nice underlying notes of tropical fruit, grass, and some floral hints. Unfortunately the flavor is one noted of dankness. Also very dry with malt doing little in the way of holding back the bitterness. Nicely carbonated but little else to be noted. A bit disappointed in this beer. I am sure Citra lovers will enjoy it much more than this drinker.

Glass: Modern Times pint glass
From: My cousin Sam
Price: N/A

Thanks Sam!

Poured a golden, pale, hazy color with 5-to-6 fingers of fluffy, white head. Couldn’t really see any bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Good amount of thick, foamy, semi-layered lacing on the sides of the glass. Great retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled a potent whiff of goodness. Specifically got Citra, sharp grapefruit, dank pine, tropical - pineapple, mango and passion fruit - herbal, grass, floral and caramel. (Smell - 4.75)

Taste was not quite as good as the nose, but that would be hard to live up to. Got boozy, earthy grapefruit rind, Citra, pine, some spiciness (maybe Simcoe?), tangerine, floral, faint Nugget, tropical, mango, light passion fruit, pear peel and faint veggies. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, boozy, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)

I really likes this beer. The smell was by far the best part. I was back and forth with the smell, taste and overall portions of this review, but settled with what I settled. (Overall - 4.25)

Thanks to Jeff for this one. 750ml capped bottle into a Grrrz teku. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a foamy, 1.5 finger sticky white head with great retention. Beer is a clear orange. Lacing is thick and layered with excellent cling. Top notch!

Nose is citrus, pine, morning dew and grass. A touch sappy. Good aromatics.

Opens pine and fresh cut grass. Some resin bitterness in the middle with hints of bark and dried tea leaves. A touch sappy at times with a astringent bitterness. Ends resin, a touch of caramel and a sap hop bitterness. Waxy bitter aftertaste. Solid.

Light to medium bodied with ample carbonation. Sticky and aggressive in the mouth and goes down dry and filmy. Messy finish with a long, lingering aftertaste. Solid.

A bit too bitter for my taste but there's nice flavor and complexity here. Just not my cup o' tea.

Smell was great! Floral and not noticing the malt. Was pretty clear and golden with white head that slowly went away. Bitter up front with no real sweet finish. Which was my one knock.

L: A gold pour with a slight orange tint has a very slight haze under a 2” off-white to cream foam column. The foam is clingy and lacy and takes 3 minutes to reduce to 1/3 its original size. Clears to bright gold as it warms. S: Grass and spice mingled with citrus has a slight mint note. Some light toast balances the hops. The Hop aromas are medium low to medium. The malt aromas are medium low. No fruity esters, no alcohol. The hop aromas are prominent but not intense. The malt is clean. Fermentation character is neutral. T: Big hop bitterness is intense but not harsh but does produce a light, drying astringency on the finish. Moderate levels of malt and malt sweetness in the background. The malt backbone provides some support for the hop bitterness. Traces of citrus. F: Very creamy medium body. Medium high carbonation is very soft. Smooth alcohol warming. O: This is an intense DIPA with elixir like qualities becoming more balanced as it warms.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a bright golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Big three finger white head which settles into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a lot of lacing.

Smell: A juicy and herbal hop forward aroma with a big scent of citrus and pine. Upfront presence of citrus hops with a scent of grapefruit, mango, orange peel, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, tangerine, and lemon. Big dank scent of pine resin and grass. Also some floral hop hints. Backing malt presence of caramel, grains, cracker, and yeast. A very good hoppy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy and herbal hop driven taste with notes of citrus fruit and pine. Big juicy taste of citrus with notes of grapefruit, orange peel, mango, tangerine, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, and lemon. Big presence of spicy pine resin along with some grassy and floral hop notes. Background malt notes of cracker, grains, caramel, and yeast. A really good taste.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Juicy and fairly oily with a drying finish. Alcohol is hidden well.

Overall: Another great IPA from Steel Toe. Brings the big juicy and dank hop notes you expect.

Nice, slightly cloudy pour with huge hop aroma. Our first time with this beast! A good, smooth sipper on a cool evening. Take your time and enjoy. Not as 'piney' as the west coast style, more balanced and the ABV is not out of line for a DIPA. Finish is clean and refreshing. Would like to run this one side by side with Size 11. Given I work about 5 minutes from these guys, I should drop in more often.

This beer pours a hazy red-orange color. The head is an inch in height, and recedes slowly leaving nice, chunky lacing. The aroma is across the room big. Grapefruit, passion fruit, tangerine, hints of cherry, pine resin and needles. Quite nice. The taste is juicier that the aroma with the same profile. The mouthfeel is full bodied with a silky texture, and ample carbonation. Overall, this is a great beer and worth the effort in tracking down.

Amazing citrus aroma when I popped it. Actually reminded me a lot of heady just from the smell. Not much head in the pour. Goes down VERY smooth. The taste is what most DIPA lovers crave for.

I would put this up against some of the best rated DIPA's in America, particularly some of the outstanding DIPA's that the East Coast has to offer.

I am very happy to have this impressive beer at stores nearby (Twin Cities). Great job Steel Toe!

Thanks Kevin for the hookup with this one. 750ml poured into a tulip. The brew appears an attractive golden color with white sudsy head that leaves spotty lace.

Nose is tropical with hops smelling like peach, apple, pear and pineapple all blended together. Slight citrus and herbs also noticed.

Tastes hoppy with lots of fruity flavors mingled with some noticeable alcohol. Pithy and rindy bitterness somewhat catty and tropical.

This is medium bodied and modestly carbonated. Overall a solid, enjoyable brew. One of the better dipas ive had in awhile.

Clear.
Orange.
White head.
Fruit?
Sweet.
Pine.
In the nose.
And the taste.
Sticky.
Resinous.
Lingering.

This is what I want an DIPA to be. Everything is pronounced without being overbalanced. Mighty tasty brew!

Golden beer with heaps of sticky foam. Very attractive. The smell bursts out of the glass during the pour...mangos and papaya. Pineapple and tangerine citrusy. Very nice. Taste is Papaya, mango, pineapple, citrus, but not a tropical bomb. It's got some great subtle caramel and almost bubblegum like undercurrents. Wow is it ever juicy. Bitterness presence is moderate. Medium body zesty carb, creamy across the tongue. Sticky. It's sticky and delicious. I only bought 3 bottles I should have bought 6 or 12.

Pours a lovely golden orange with a minimal head. Smell is Orange, Mango , Papaya. Taste follows suit.

Mouthfeel is wonderful with this beer. Right in my wheelhouse

Another incredible offering from what I consider the best brewery in Minnesota

Great tropical aroma. Crisp and clean look, feel and taste.

Well balanced. No trace of higher ABV.

Right amount of sweet, smooth and good stickiness.

Glad I bought more than one. One of the best West Coast IPAs made in MN.

You need to go find this one...
