Can from New Seasons.

A mildly hazy light orange with a large, off-white head with good retention and no lacing, this looks solid. The nose has the usual banana, clove and bread notes but also a mild bitter, herbal character that's a little off putting. This character is more noticeable on the palate, lending an unwelcome bitterness. Still, though, the yeast and grain expression is solid, a nice blend of banana and clove. Light in body and moderately carbonated, this finishes quite week, but with that unfortunate herbal character. Solid stuff, though disappointing when compared against their pilsner.

Poured from 16oz tall can into a pint glass.

Appearance: light golden hue with a mild haze. Head poured a finger of fizzy white foam, but didn't stick around too long. Color is quite nice, though.

Smell: nice clovey aroma, although there is a bit of a tart bite that detracts a little from the experience.

Taste: very good banana-clove flavor going on here, with a nice, malty, wheaty finish. A much better experience than the aroma. I quite like it.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: I really like the flavor of this beer, but the aroma and some of its other qualities could be punched up a bit.

Rich and full-bodied, the Occidental Hefeweizen is a definite go-to weizen here in Portland, OR. Cloves, bananas, slight bubblegum, with a slight yeasty tang on the finish. Poured from a tallboy into a Weizen Glass.

Yeasty, Sweet, Clove, Banana

Cloudy, dark peach with a thin, short-lived head. Yeasty nose with clove and banana skins. Smooth, creamy, with a firm body and prickly carbonation. Bit of citric upfront, smoothing out to a malty sweet profile, wheaty edge, caramel undertones, overripe apple, wrapped in more clove and banana with a grassy bite. Chalky finish. Although it’s lacking in appearance and a bit on the sweet side, it’s a solid example of the style.

I had this at the brewery on tap.

Poured with a 1/2" ivory head. Fairly active.

Opaque and hazy with darker color than most hefes I've tried. Though predominantly pale yellow like most hefes, it leans to the orange side in terms of color.

The smell is great with a fairly pungent hop for the style. Seems like hay and light citrus to me. There's a great wheat-y under-tone at the finish.

This is one of my favorite hefes that I've tried. I wish they sold it bottled instead of just canned.

Great color but my 16oz can felt a little low on head. Smells of tropical fruit. Primarily pineapple. Tastes more of pineapple but with a more tang like passion fruit. The fruit taste fades with a mild slightly dry leafy hop flavor and a whole lot of yeasty funk. Slight bit heavy on the yeastiness but I love the tropical fruitiness. The beer is well balanced, mellow and easy drinking. Excellent hefe, but doesn't beat weihenstephaner.

Pint glass poured from a growler from Growl Movement in S.Salem. $10 a growler. Pours a hazy ,bright yellow with a nice sized thick creamy white head. Nice fresh banana, spice and bread aromas. Taste similar to aroma with a bit of summer fruit thrown in. Kinda comes up short in the palate..starts of fine but gets a wee bit watery by the end. But overall for a 80-90 degree day its fine stuff

Served from a growler into a weizen glass.

A- Poured a hazy bright golden color with big fluffy bright white head that left some splashy lace.

S- Tangy banana and clove, slightly citrusy, and traditional.

T- Big tangy banana notes, big bright and sparkling citrusy notes, and quite a bit of clove and spice character.

M- Pretty smooth, fizzy and sparkling carbonation, light bodied, very refreshing, and not dry.

O- This is a really nice refreshing, tangy, juicy, and citrusy hefeweizen, which are all some of my favorite qualities in the style.

The best Hef I ever tasted. Got it at the taproom, poured into a tall hef glass

A: Perfect cloudy gold, impeccable 1 inch off-white head.

S: Smells like a Hef

T: Drinkability is high, Notes of bananas and cloves (not overpowering though). Doesn't have that hef yeast after taste that im used to. Its good, real good

M: Creamy, not too light

O: The best best Hef ive ever had. Crazy that i am in love with it, since I am usually an IPA, Sour, Belgian drinker
