Poured at the Borefts Festival

A: Pitch black beer
S: Mainly Stroopwafel (syrup waffle), coffe, bourbonish
T:chocolate,dark fruits, bourbon
M: Nice and low carbonation
O: really surprising beer, the taste is way different than the smell. Still an awesome beer, one of my favorite from the Borefts!

Shared bottle (thanks Ferris).
Strong flavor. Weak point may be the particular bourbon barrel used, although the BBL effects are well done: Obvious bourbon notes, a faint wood note, leaving the malts showing too.
Thick, smooth and syrupy body.

A - black with a small tan head which dissipates quickly leaving a little bit of lacing

S - lots of bourbon, dark fruits, some coffee and chocolate.

T - chocolate truffles, dark fruits, vanilla pods, dark chocolate and bourbon

M - lightly carbonated, finishes quite bitter with some background sweetness.

Fantastic beer.

A - A deep, dark black with a small beige head. No light comes through. Some of the foam sticks to the edge of the glass but it doesn't have a film of beer as I'd expect from a big stout.

S - Chocolate, bourbon, wood. Good depth and complexity.

T - Chocolate and bourbon. Rich and firm. A slight bitterness in the finish, maybe even too much (especially as it warms).

M - A bit thin with a nice low carbonation.

O - An interesting beer but the thinness and lingering bitterness take away from the overall experience.

180 day aged Bourbon Barrel version of Bearded Lady Imperial Brown Stout.... Say hello to the Bearded Lady, our uncompromisingly big and beautiful Imperial Stout. Born from our Dark Arts recipe she uses masses of magical malts to deliver deep chocolate, rich coffee and vinous berry flavours all complemented by a balanced yet subtly spicy hop profile. Powerful, robust, intriguing; yet decadently smooth and sumptuous, the lady demands respect…
