Yellow color, a bit hazy, with a good head with nice retention.
Predominant light malty aroma, hard to identify the type of hop or its result, though not much different from a regular pilsner.
Flavor improves in that sense, malt sweetness with some herbal notes.
Aftertaste is dry with a medium bitterness. Light body with medium carbonation.
It didn’t come across with much personality, it seems behind the curve in comparison to the other brews from Cervejaria Nacional.

On-tap at the source itself, on to the beer:

Here's comes another beer with a great, creamy hed on top, excellent retention and lace. The color is pee yellow and some carbonation bubbles swim towards the top. It has a pleasing aroma, one that is filled with crisp grass, aromtic hay, and a sqeeze of lemonade.

The malt sweetness is most resemblant to that found in Vienna malt. A little sweet like graham cracker, but not too sweet, and there's enough grassy and spicy hop flavor to break through the base malt. The body is light and gentle like its Domina Weiss stablemate, and also is pleasant to drink.

In my experience with most Brazilian "pilsen" types, this is the weakest link of any brewery's family. But in the case of Cervejaria Nacional, I thought Y-iara Pilsen was the best of the sampler. A great surprise.

The beers at Cervejaria Nacional are all named after Brazilian Folk Tales. The Y-iara Pilsen is a typical pilsner type beer that was very good. The appearance was clear golden color with decent white head that had some lacing. The smell typical of pilsners....nothing fantastic. The taste was fine nothing beyond a decent pilsner. The mouthfeel was very good and was very easy drinking.

SRM = 05

CN was a great place, great food, and great beer! Hopefully will start a trend for more micros to be established in Brazil.
