Been in Richmond for about 4 years and this quickly became my favorite spot in the entire city (which says a lot with the other foodie/beer spots available). They now have far more than 7 taps (I want to say there is like 14), an extensive 750/bombers list and a great selection of cans and bottles. Everything is very fairly priced and the staff knows their stuff. It is a small joint so if you hit peak hours be patient, the food and beer are WELL worth the wait. Plus, they just added an outdoor seating area just in time for the beautiful weather.

Cannot recommended this place enough.

Cool place near VCU in downtown Richmond. The place is sort of a hipster diner, and everyone is bearded and/or tattooed. Good beer selection (with rotating taps), and the food is good too. Prices are reasonable. I go here pretty frequently. Highly recommended.

This is a new favorite place for my buddies and I. It's a dive down near Cary and Belvidere and has that VCU hipster vibe - lots of tattoos on the waitresses, lots of vegan/vegetarian options on the computer printout/laminated menu, and tattered diner-style seating.

Beer selection is pretty damn good, with no BMC offerings. I want to say it's between 5 and seven taps, plus another 50 or so bottles written on the chalkboards. They've got three boards, a standard year round 12oz one, a list of seasonals and then a third board that gives their 22oz selection.

The service is fast and curteous, but I don't know how much they know about the beers. They don't seem like beer geeks, but I could be wrong, never asked any questions of them.

The food is excellent. Typical pub grub plus the vegan/vegetarian items I'd mentioned before. Burgers are fantastic.

Value is what sets this place apart, the food is reasonable and the beers are less than what you'd pay at CapAle. They have a Thirsty Thursday special from open to close (they say 7 or 8pm) and their Monday burger deal is great too.
