stopped in for a beer and dinner on a Friday night. They've got a bar and seating area inside, and a nice patio outside. The interior is generic bar and grill. The taplist is all craft beer, although about 1/3 of it are Tired Hands beer so a little out of whack in terms of variety. Service was fine. Had a burger and fries, they were decent.

You can’t miss this place, because it is more than prominent among all the brouhaha of Philly’s South Street. They have a major patio that is usually packed when the weather is warm, a sizable bar and dining area and a ton of signs advertising their beer and specials and their being the birthplace of one of the dudes from The Three Stooges (who cares?).

I’ve walked and driven and ridden my bike up and down this bar at least a million times but never thought much of it. Until PhillyTapFinder told me that they were having a barrel-aged fest and there I went.

The event was on a Saturday and I went to Jon’s on a Sunday night. By then, some of the good brews were gone already but plenty of good stuff was still on, including my favorite Bruery Smoking Wood! Also Cuvee de Tomme, Sam Adams Black Harbor, Dragon’s Milk, Anderson Huge Arker, Goose Island Bourbon County, Sculpin, Port Wipeout, Tripel Karmeliet…

I’ve been back to Jon’s several times after that first visit and the tap list has remained pretty strong, and I’ve been told they will have more good barrel-aged stuff coming up. Service is very nice here, personable and attentive. They’ll know you and remember you.

One of the bartenders tells me that in the spring and summer they get super busy, but for now I find this place to be comfortable, friendly and easy. I’m a fan!

I've driven/walked past this place for a very long time. I just recently found out that there is some good beer here to be had.

From outside, Jon's looks like the typical tourist attraction for south street 1st timers, and in fact, it is, kind of. A huge outside seating area with table galore, a very nice sized crowd on a early Saturday afternoon. Inside a nice sized dining area to the right and a bar area towards the right.

Feel has a mix of Philadelphia spirit along with some tropical scenery. A nice sized draft list that were very fairly priced for the area. 12 or so taps and plenty of bottles for on site or to go. There wa even some parabola on the shelf, which goes pretty quick, so I think this place might not be on the radar yet.

I had some Bear Republic Tartare and Some Ruination. No dirty line and clean atmosphere. The food coming out looked appetizing at bet, but nothing stood out to me. The bartender, Ryan was super cool and knew his stuff. He seemed like he wanted this place to succeed beer wise, other than being another place on south street. With what was there, I can see myself coming back.
