A: Deep pitch black. thinnest khaki head. gone in a flash.
S: sweet bourbon. caramel, vanilla, figs, candied stone fruits.
T: Chocolate, vanilla, burnt sugar, booze, done amazing.
F: Thick, chewy, sticky, great coating and lingering flavor.
O: This is really excellent. Sad i couldn't get a growler to go. Good balance of booze with sweetness and bitter dark chocolate flavor. Well done.

This beer exploded on the aroma with bourbon, umami, dense dark chocolate, fudge, vanilla. This was very impressive on the table compared the slightly lacking aromas on the IPAs.

The beer is such a treat. Tons of chewy caramel, bourbon, vanilla, coconut, dark chocolate throughout, a roasted coffee finish. A truly incredible barrel aged stout. Next to ANTEAD, Kane's barrel program has blown me away.

It doesn't get much better than this. Chocolately, oak, vanilla sweetness, roasty, just wow. Mouthfeel is sticky without being overly cloying. Exactly what I look for. I was in love with this beer. Hope I can get it in a bottle or growler sometime in the future. Bravo.

Added full review after opening the newly released bottle. Had reviewed with just numbers when having this on draft previously.

Pours pitch black and thick, with a dark khaki head that slowly recedes to a film and retains well, leaving some lacing on the glass.

Smells decadent, with sweet dark and bitter bakers chocolate, brown sugar and molasses, vanilla, oak, and heavily roasted malt. Smells like bourbon soaked fudge brownies! Simply incredible!

The taste follows the nose perfectly, with bakers chocolate, fudge, brownies, molasses, vanilla, and oak being the primary players. Also some sweet, dark fruits like figs come through, and it's rounded out by nice touches of roasted malt. A beautiful touch of bourbon flavor with almost no boozy heat brings it all together. It's hard to imagine a better flavor for a straight up bourbon barrel aged imperial stout!

The mouth feel is thick and viscous, velvety even, but with just enough carbonation. Coats the mouth, and goes down super smooth, with almost no hint whatsoever of alcohol heat!

Just another home-run of a BA stout from Kane! Significantly better than regular ANTEAD, which is saying a lot, but with a completely different flavor profile! So stoked that they finally bottled this gem!

First visit to Kane and they have 2013 BBA Silent Night on tap. Yum. Overall this is an excellent brew with a slightly restrained nose, but huge barrel flavors. Solid base as well. You can't barrel age a pig. Clean and complex.
