8 ball black with a thin, fuzzy but dark mocha ring.
There's nothing shy about this beauty, coming right out of the gate with all of the advertised goodness: coconut, nougat, marshmallow, woody oak, and deep walnut. It's all kinds of decadent with a gooey, almost German chocolate brownie, but the dark fruit from the base is not prominent here, because the coconut smooths and sweetens that out, replacing it by adding hints of vanilla.
Smooth, thick and full, the carbonation changes from velvetty in the base to silky here, with the slight sting of heat dampened, but still sticky, and semi-dry.
Easily the best beer at Hunahpu's Day 2018--glad I made it my first!

2015 ANTEAD set.
Dark brown body with a thin, beige collar of broken bubbles. Aromas of oak, bourbon, char. Coconut is stealthy and comes in late palate. Delicate sweetness. Authentic coconut flavor. Lovely.

Appearance: Pours black as an ace and thick; the small tan head fades quickly leaving only a few spots
Smell: Dark chocolate, vanilla, coconut, oak and fig
Taste: Dark chocolate, fig and vanilla forward, with the coconut building; after the swallow, the Bourbon arrives, delivering a boozy complexity to the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodies with low to moderate carbonation
Overall: It is nice to have a big stout that works the coconut in so well as that is a hard adjunct to work with in a way that it fits into the flavor profile
