Head High is our interpretation of an American-style India Pale Ale (IPA). This beer is all about the hops; we use a blend of five different varieties all grown in the Pacific Northwest. A small charge of Chinook and Columbus early in the boil adds a smooth bitterness. A majority of the hops are then added late in the kettle or post-fermentation to produce a beer that is heavy on hop flavor and aroma. The combination of Cascade, Centennial, Citra and Columbus give Head High a noticeable grapefruit flavor with aromas of citrus, tropical fruits and pine. Our house American ale yeast ferments to a dry finish that accentuates the use of imported Pilsner and lightly kilned crystal malt resulting in Head High’s straw color and crisp flavor.

Pour is lightly hazed yellowish amber with a thin white ring. Nose has a light cereal with a hint of rubber. A bit phenolic with a hint of pine and citrus. Taste has a light bitterness and gentle carbonation. Grain an cereal on the light body with more citrus and a light pine. Bitterness lingers with some dirty wheat. Bitterness out weighs the other hop flavors an malts are a bit unrefined and unfocused.

Just a very solid IPA, that I can enjoy year round. Just enough ending bitterness along with the middle citrus to let me enjoy the front-end hop/sweetness. I could compare it to a lot of other breweries but it definitely stands out. Well-made and super tasty!

My #1 go to beer! Always a sixth in the kegerator. A little harder to get this winter as they stopped local delivery but well worth the drive to the brewery to pickup.

16oz can. Bottom lip of can is stamped 'CANNED ON 09/14/22'.
Completely cloudy, deep gold colored body. Two fingers of white head recedes to a partial cap. Some small particulates extend into the bottom two thirds of the glass. Leaves behind some patterns of lacing.
Aroma is heavy on the hops, with a grapefruit pith being prominent. Some orange citrus.
Taste is grapefruit pith, and some orange citrus (which is sweeter, but only momentary). Aftertaste goes total bitter pith. Good malt base. Hop dankness is a contributor.
Medium plus mouthfeel. Kind of dry for finish. Very good carbonation.
More of an abrupt and dry IPA that expresses much more bitterness and dank than sweet and fruity. Still well brewed.

Poured out a hazy golden orange with a thick white head. The smell was of citrus, pineapple, and hops. The taste sort of reminded me of a Kona beer I've had. Overall, it's a really good tasting beer.

Canned on 06/30/22. Pours an opaque straw color into a Samuel Smith Imperial pint glass with a 2 fingers high white head, visible carbonation, good retention & plenty of fine lacing. There is particulate yeast matter present with every can I've poured from this batch at the bottom of the glass. Aroma is citrus, pine & tropical fruit with muted malt in the background. Flavor is very well balanced with both the hops & malts present and a nice bitter aftertaste that lingers. A medium bodied masterpiece that finishes on the dry side. Have had on tap as well and is a go to when found.
