First aged in a blend of various bourbon barrels for an average of 23 months, including Heaven Hill Old Fitzgerald Bourbon, Heaven Hill 8-Year Bourbon and Buffalo Trace Weller Wheated Bourbon. Then this stout was aged for an additional six months in a Balsamo cask. This beer pushes notes of fresh baked apple pie à la mode and baked Alaska flambé supported by the rich chocolate and vanilla notes from the prior bourbon barrel aging.
