12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip.

A- Hazy gold. White head is pretty creamy. Retention is mediocre, but leaves some lovely lacing.

S- Piney, citrus hop. Faint stone fruit, spice, and a little toast.

T- Citrus, with piney finish. Grainy toast malt, and some Belgian spices.

M- Medium light body. Spicy and a bit of a bitey finish.

O- Not bad. Different, but pleasant hop character for a white IPA.

Pours a clear, amber color. 5/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong piney hops, slight citrus hops, hint of floral, sweet malt, slight pale malt, and a hint of alcohol. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong floral hops, slight citrus hops, sweet malt, slight alcohol, hint of pine, and a hint of earthiness. Overall, great appearance, very well blended, and a strong aroma and body.

Aroma is citrus, spices/light coriander and wheat. The flavor is citrus, very light hop resin, wheat, spices, good palate and a tart/sour/slightly bitter finish.

12 oz bottle poured into a chalice. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a full two fingers of foam that recedes very slowly. Aroma is fairly mild, with a nice grapefruit hop presence.

First sip is very smooth, with a nice citrus hoppy flavor. Very mild bitter finish. Very easy to drink, with a lot of flavor. Really surprised by the lack of bitterness in the finish, but it make the beer very approachable.

Overall, very solid. I'd get this again.

Howler style from Liquor Shed.

A golden coloured brew with a small head of foam that shrinks quickly.

The smell is hoppy with big notes of pine and grass and some wheat that has some spicy aspects to it.

The taste is hoppy with what I noted above. It does have a wet hop slick kind of thing going on as well.

Nice and tasty, good medium mouthfeel, I like this one as I do most of the IPA style variants.

Cloudy golden pour with a foamy and dense white one-finger head. Nice citrusy aroma. Lots of citrus hop flavor upfront with orange, orange peel and grapefruit flavors dominating. Also has a bit of lemon and a nice grain presence. Not overly bitter. Finishes dry with a lingering grain flavor.

one of the best colorado white ipas to come out yet. i think its the use of these perle hops, which have a combination of orchard fruit, maybe pear aroma, and a nice bright summery dry grassy character that make it the perfect compliment to robust wheat malt. this one has a golden glow, less white than others, more yellow, and has a luxurious pillow of white head on top which never dies. smells and tastes like an unfamiliar hop, obviously the perle is something new to my palate here, but i dig it hard. it reminds me of the first time i had a really mosaic forward beer, and couldnt really say why i liked it so much. its got elements of the noble region strains, but has a ton more fruit and alpha acid than most of those, so its the best of new and old world, and is just downright delicious in this wheat beer. bright summery finish, i think this is an excellent summer release from odell, but i would love to see it in sixers instead of the mixed 12 packs. i think this one would do really well for them, its so unique, and do decidedly not belgian, that i think a lot of folks would get behind it. i certainly wouldnt mind being in front of another pint right now!

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall pint glass.

Appearance: Pours an unfiltered golden orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Solid two fingers of white head.

Smell: A juicy and earthy hop forward aroma with hints of citrus fruit and wheat. Citrus hops with hints of orange peel, grapefruit, lemon zest, pineapple, and apricot. Earthy and floral hops with hints of grass and spice. Pale malt with hints of wheat, grains, cracker, and biscuit. Pretty hop forward and juicy. A solid aroma.

Taste: Like the smell, a nicely juicy and earthy hop driven taste with good notes of citrus and wheat. Upfront citrus hops with notes of grapefruit, lemon, orange peel, pineapple, and apricot. Solid presence of floral and earthy hops with some notes of grass and spice. Solid backing of bready malt with notes of wheat, grains, straw, cracker, and biscuit. A pretty solid wheaty IPA taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Juicy and fairly drying on the finish.

Overall: A pretty solid take on a White IPA. Good citrus hop presence with a nice wheat twist.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Tulip.

Appearance: Light gold with decent white head.

Smell: Grapefruit, lemon, wheat and some floral notes.

Taste: Strong wheat backbone with hop layers of grapefruit and lemon, as well as some spicy and floral notes. Lightly bitter.

Feel: Light to medium bodied, with a silky wheat mouthfeel. Not as effervescent or dry as hoped for.

Overall: This is a very hoppy wheat beer. I hate the White IPA moniker, as there is no way to tell if it has Belgian yeast or not. This one does not, but the wheat is very evident. Good beer overall, but the mix is not quite right.

Sampled on tap at the Odell tasting room. Poured clear golden light with nice white head and lacing. Fresh crisp citrus smell. Very refreshing taste- clean and well balanced. Nice citrus hop and bitterness. A good choice for summer heat. Too bad its not sold in six packs.

12 oz bottle served chilled into an imperial pint glass.

Perle is a pale amber color but not as light as I expected for a white IPA. The white head is thick at first but settles fairly quickly. A small bit of lacing is left behind.

Aroma is hoppy and fresh with lemony citrus.

Flavor is sweet up front, a bit like a wit beer, but turns bitter towards the middle. The hops provide plenty of citrus flavor and a good hit of bitterness. It finishes fairly dry with a crisp smack of hops.

Mouthfeel is light in body and strongly carbonated.

Overall an enjoyable beer but not as good as their other hop-forward ales.

Poured from a bottle with a best by date of 8/19/14; into a tulip.
Appearance - bright gold, swirling carbonation bubbles. Head is foamy and white. Lacing is sticky and abundant!
Smell - citrus and grass with some sourdough.
Taste - a crisp, clean and light IPA. Very similar characteristics as some good pale wheat ales!
Feel - nice balanced IPA with an expected light body.
Overall - perhaps a biased review, as I dig the style and the IPA's Odell brews!
