I picked up a bottle at 2nd St Discount liquors...$14.29.

Corked and caged bottle let out a pop when said cork was removed.

It sure is a golden coloured brew. Small layer of foam on pouring that soon dissipates to a few islands and a ring around the glass. Looks a bit on the hazy side.

Big woody notes with just as big sour notes from the raspberries. Through one nostril, I could swear that I notice some fruity sweetness. ;^)

Wow, the taste holds no undo surprises; fits the smell to a T. The fruit has such a freshness, tart and lesser..sweet, but I know the things been aging in the oak. Speaking of which, I dig the mildish, sometimes more noticeable, woody character.

Medium body? I think so. Good carbonation? Yes.

This is hella good!

Tasted as part of out first annual Sour Power Hour share. Wasn't sure how this offering was gonna hold up against offerings from Russian River, The Rare Barrel and Allagash. Pleasantly found this beer to be very worthy of being in the mix. The golden raspberry comes through as a subtle balancing note. The oak comes through much more prominently in this offering than in most sours. Gonna have to get me more of this one.

An oddly amber hued with a slight orange tint. There's just a trace of the fingernail thin tan head in the middle. Massively tart aroma of raspberries. The taste is not as mouth puckeringly tart as the aroma would suggest. I'm relieved. There is plenty of tart raspberry, but it is all at the front of the palate. This is a bit one dimensional for me. The mouth seems carbonated and yet a bit thin for the style.

750 poured into an oversized Belgian tulip.

Pours a light brownish color with golden hues and settles like a light-skinned plum in the glass. Fizzy head gives way to a bed of lace. Transparent to the eye. 5

Aroma is surprisingly funky. Wasn't expecting that from this given the experiences of a few friends. Tart berry notes and jam. A vinous quality as well. I like but find it a bit one dimensional. 4

Opening flavor is heavy on the funk before tart, jammy berries arrive. Dry vinous flavors make me think of white wine but they’re immediately followed by a does of brown sugar or caramelized sugar. The maltiness reminds me of an oud bruin or a Flanders Red. And I like it. 4.25

Light, tart, vinous, refreshing. Got a a bit of sweet maltiness towards the finish that gives it that oud bruin or Flanders Red quality. The balance of dry vinous qualities and tartness to caramelized sweetness is great. Right up my lane. 4.25

I sat on this for ages passing it up for other beers in my fridge and cellar, but this is excellent. Delicious.

750ml corked and caged poured into snifter

A: a light head that disappears as quickly as it was poured light amber color good clarity looks like lively carbonation

S: vinegar, lemon, slight raspberry, some wine grape skin

T: mellow light vinegar slight raspberry taste not very tart more mildly sour than puckering

M: a little watery really clean finish

O: A little light on taste I like that it isn't bracingly sour but I wanted it to be a little more sour than that, if that makes sense. It really is a nice milder sour with a pleasant raspberry taste.

Pours an effervescent bronze with 2 fingers of ivory colored head. Below average head retention & lacing; some viscosity

S: Raspberries, sourness; slight Chardonnay notes

T: Tartness, raspberries, oaky dryness, a little bit of Winesap apple. More sourness/tartness as this warms, I pick some saltyness as well, tons of oaky dryness, slight raspberry sweetness as well. Finishes tart, dry, sour

MF: Medium bodied, lively carbonation, man, I feel the enamel being stripped from my teeth, wow! A little acidity as well

Complexity picks up as this warms, cuts the drinkability a bit. if you love sour, this is your beer

Don't know if I have had another beer that smells so strongly of fresh raspberries.
