Surprisingly clear, this appears sparkling, slightly foggy yellow with a persistent fuzzy collar.

Smell is barnyard funk, hay, funky cheese, lemon and pineapple candy.

Taste is quite sour with fruity notes of lemon, green apple, and pineapple as well as more earthy yet sour qualities of sharp woody oak and funky grapefruit.

The effervescent, medium body finishes semi-dry and tingly, becoming a bit too acidic, nearing acetic.

Pours an effervescent honey color with a sliver of beige head. Head completely dissapers. Zero head retention & lacing

S: Plenty of pineapple

T: Follows the nose, tartness & dryness, there is plenty of sweetness, & a little white grape up front. Tart pineapple & dryness as this warms, slight acidity too. Finishhes like a Pineapple Sweet tart, plenty dry

MF: Medium body, subtle carbonation

Drinks pretty easy, a nice sour

Light orange color with a pleasant haze especially at the bottom of the bottle. Light head, no lacing. Citric acid aroma with mild brett funk. Nice tropical fruit flavor, mostly pineapple. Mild funk is enhanced when you get some of the yeast at the bottom. Medium body. Well carbonated. Dry finish. Good stuff.

L - 2 full fingers of head, and tons of white foamy lacing left on top of the brew and all over the glass. Cloudy blond with no clarity. Gorgeous

S - Tart and sour dominates, pineapple

T - Huge tart blast and very sour. Pineapple and dried fruit is subtle. Delicious

F - Full body and very well carbonated

O - An excellent and refreshing sour from Odell. Well done!

Pours a very cloudy golden color with a thin carbonated head. Retention and lacing are mild. Definite sour lactobacillus aroma with pineapple. Not too complicated. Strong sour taste with a large amount of pineapple tartness. Good beer. I was impressed with it. Light to medium bodied with moderate to heavy carbonation.

On tap into a burgundy glass, pours a pineapple gold with a thin off white crown that subsides quickly. Nose is full on sour but ripe pineapple, some sour apple, maybe just a light kiss of Brett, some yeasty bready malt. Taste is pretty straightforward, following the nose, more harmony but not quite as many layers. Pretty sweet, juicy, and a little sticky, though it cleans up nice at the end. I could use more funk...a lot more, actually. As is often the case with Odell, everything works together really well and the flavor and feel come to just the right point. All things...this is good, not great, and I'm glad I got the chance to enjoy.

A: Poured into a Duvel tulip to a bright gold topped by a dense two finger white head that fades quickly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of funk, sourness, a little pineapple and some cracker like malts
T: Taste is juicy and sweet pineapple along with some tart acidity with a little funk along with some dry malty notes. Swallow is more pineapple and bright acidity with some lingering sweetness and light funk.
M: This beer is on the lighter side of medium in body with slightly prickly carbonation and a dry finish
O: overall this is a pretty good beer. The pineapple is a nice addition to the base beer and complements the sour notes well. The beer also has some nice complexity and flavors. Definitely one to try if you like sours.

On tap at brewery:
Initial pour is a tad ugly without much head. Dirty orange yellow and translucent initially, a shallower volume or time cleared it up a tad.

Nose is nice, though a bit sweet. Pineapple comes out, but more like the core than the softer flesh. A bit of funk is always there, and a hint of weak watermelon showed up early (faded with warmth).

Taste seems like a fairly standard funky beer initially. Pineapple does not really come out for me, but a general lightly tart fruit is noted (apple/nectarine are the closest I can come up with).

There is a nice little flourish on the tongue, which I think is a combination of hidden carbonation and a quick tart sting. This is fleeting, but breaks up the more dull generic funk wildness of the beer.

On the odd chance I have one, I would love to try this again. I'd really Ike that tart bite to linger just a tad longer, and perhaps have the pineapple flank be more evident to my palate.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into tulip.
A: Pours a clear golden yellow with 1-2 inch bubbly white head that fairly quickly recedes (really wish it would have stayed around for more than a few seconds). Active carbonation jets.
S: Sour with a hint of citrus.
T: Strong sour note hits first. Slowly, the other notes emerge...pineapple, orange, peach, and a hint of melon.
M: Super sour. Light-medium body. Tart with some fruit juicy sweetness. Mildly astringent.
D: A nice summer sour! Subtle complexity once you get beneath the sour note. Another well constructed brew from Odell.

T: Light body and high carbonation.

O: Overall a good summer day sour.

look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 4.25

Appearance: Pours a cloudy honey color capped by three fingers of foam; nice retention and a reasonably good job of lacing

Smell: Funk forward, with lactic pineapple, guava and passion fruit

Taste: Lactic sour flavors of pineapple, guava and passion fruit, with a lime element building through the middle; the Bretty funk arrives, after the swallow, and offsets the sour tones, somewhat

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; slightly puckery

Overall: This beer has developed nicely in the year or so since it was released; the balance between the Brett and the lactobacillus is quite enjoyable

Thanks, Reed, for the opportunity

Poured cold into a stemmed wine glass.

Appearance: Beautiful golden color with some cloudiness from sediment from the bottom of bottle. very effervescent at first pour, left almost a champagne-like head.

Smell: Sour smell, little malt character detectible.

Taste: Very sour with little malt detectible in flavor. Didnt pick up the pineapple as much as I expected (or really at all). Didnt detect much other than tart. Was looking for more character here.

Mouthfeel: Astringent, fairly thin, vinegar.

Overall: Washoping for more pineapple character and more balance in this overall. Was expecting some sweetness to balance out the sour funk, either from the pineapple or the malt. Not my favorite beer.

Poured into a chalice a very nice clean/clear dark golden yellow/orange color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice creamy/foamy one-finger white head, and leaves a nice medium size island, and some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, slightly funky, citrusy. The taste is very nice malty, yeasty, funky, citrusy. Medium body. Overall, this is a very tasty brew.

Pours gold with a one finger white head with nice retention and lacing. The aroma has tart lemon and pineapple, Brett, and bread malt.

Tastes just like it smells. Nice combination of sweet and tart flavors. More pineapple than lemon.

Light to medium bodied with above average carbonation. Very easy to drink. Has a tart pineapple aftertaste. I am glad had a chance to try this.

Hazy honey color. Decent white head at first but doesn't last. Aroma and taste are both Brett focused with pineapple and sweet toasted bread. Fairly tart and dry finish. Very nice Wild Ale overall with just the right amount of pineapple.

Deep gold in color and while there are plenty of tiny carbonation bubbles erupting from within, there is no head on top. Each pour into the glass was murkier and I did see a fingernail of off white head. Light lacing also picked up. Aroma is well balanced with sweet pineapple slightly edging out the tart Brett notes. The tart Brett flavor is also balanced out in the flavor. Tartness shows itself at the front of the palate, but by midpalate it is balanced out with the sweet pineapple. I can't help but feel it tastes a bit like Fresca with a touch of Brett. The mouth is fairly carbonated and dry.

750 ml bottle into a tulip glass.

Pours a mostly clear, bright yellow. Two finger head on first pour, that really dissipated quickly. Good amount of foamy cling. Smell is tart, yeast, fruity- made me think pineapple, a little malt, slight black pepper as it warmed. Taste is mostly tart, only a little sour, with some funkiness to it. The pineapple is more easily recognized and prevalent. Also some yeast. It seems a little sweet when it first hits your tongue. Smooth, refreshing, well carbonated, the taste lingers in your mouth.

A good beer, tart but certainly not sour. The pineapple is well done. Worth a purchase, but the price point is slightly high for what you get.

Grunt from Albertsons. One of the more approachable sours I’ve tried. Not an overall huge fan of the style, but this one is fairly gentle and welcoming. Mild citrus aroma leads into a more tart taste, both from the pineapple and the Brett. Gentle finish with a hint of alcohol warmth.
