Notes: Rupture was born out of our obsession with getting the most out of each and every hop. In fact, we built a machine in our brewery to incorporate a unique fresh grind process. By grinding the whole hop we “rupture” the lupulin inside – releasing the oils that give the beer its flavor. And what we grind that day we use that day. Leaving you a beer that’s fresh, aromatic, with a bright hoppy character.

This looked so good in the glass, light head remained consistent though the serving, not the absolute best I've had in my life but an extremely solid IPA. Definitely would purchase again

Poured from can into tulip glass head is small and slightly off white in color and settles to less than 1 finger. Color is slightly cloudy light golden yellow.

Nose brings light citrus and faint pine notes with no other major strong notes.

Hop forward with mostly stone fruit, mango and citrus notes with a light bitter and dry finish. Malt seems to be in the background and adds to a smoothing balance. Finishes with a creamy yet slight dry tang.

Slightly creamy mouth feel with fine smooth carbonation and nice medium body.

Overall, a nice hop forward beer without going too hazy, juicy, sweet or too bitter. Nicely drinkable and a solid offering leaning toward citrus hops. EDIT: A re-tasting puts this up a few notches in the Odell stable for me. Above the more bitter Drumroll and close to Mountain Standard.

Poured from a 12 oz can (date was smudged beyond legibility):

Pours a slightly hazy gold. Head is creamy and sticks around a while.

Aroma is very fruity, almost tropical, with mango being the strongest voice here.

Taste is insanely hoppy compared to the smell. A bit out of left field. However, I very much enjoyed it. Hoppy, but not overly bitter at all. This is one of the freshest tasting beers I have ever had.

Feel is medium bodied with powerful carbonation.

Overall, another great showing from Odell. Perfect for hop heads in the mood for something hoppy but not overly bitter.

Poured into English pint glass. Nice golden hue with a bit of haze. Aroma is not comparable to taste which seems a twist. Mango, tropical scent but nothing like the taste.
Taste is very refreshing mix of hop and fruit. A wonderful surprise.
Feel is a very good mix of bubbles, flavor, crispness with a finish of wanting another drink.
Odell has a way of taking an ipa and actually making it special/different once gain.
With too many ipas to choose from, this is one I would serve to newbies and beer snobs alike with confidence.

6pk cans from Austin market. BB 03/20/20...easy to see, easy to read.
Pours clear gold. Great creamy head. Bubble activity is slightly weak, but okay.
Aroma is quite muted...at least it is when its cold.
Taste is light, refreshing, not fruity but more on the bready/piney end. Easy to drink, not filling, no dryness. no astringency. Refreshing and sessionable. A good summertime beer.

Arguably a new favorite for me! Great hazy, orange-yellow, head and lace as expected from draft pour. Hoppy, but not overkill. Tons of flavor from fruity to pine to just good ole yummy. Try this one when you need to remind yourself why you love craft beer.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy, orange-copper color with a moderate, white head that looks like a snowbank. SRM of 12. (4.00)

Aroma: Moderate aromas of orange, grapefruit , mango, green tropical fruit, plastic, grapefruit. Some mango, bitter pineapple, pithy grapefruit, and pine underneath. Lots of plastic on the aroma. (4.00)

Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with lots of orange, grapefruit citrus, pineapple, green tropical fruit, and guava/mango. Some light mango and honey underneath. Mild airy pine bitterness on the end. Showcases the hops well, yet only mildly sweet. Again, hints of plastic flavor here. (3.75)

Feel: Medium-bodied. Medium to low carbonation. (3.75)

Compared to Odell IPA 2/17/21: Pours a lighter color. Similar aromas/flavors. More juicy green tropical fruit, pineapple, grapefruit, mango. More airy flower. Less resinous and sweet orange and tropical fruit.

Compared to Breckenridge Hop Peak IPA 2/26/21: Pours a nearly identical color. More green fruit and plastic. Less grapefruit, orange, pineapple.

Compared to Odell's Mountain Standard IPA 3/21/21: Pours a slightly darker appearance. Similar carbonation and head. Slightly juicier aromas. More orange, mango, tropical and green fruit. Less lemon, pineapple, and airy pine.

Overall: A very flavorful, but relatively lighter IPA. Has a lot of PLASTIC, ORANGE, GREEN TROPICAL FRUIT, PINEAPPLE, LEMON, and more PLASTIC flavors. Surprisingly a decent amount of plastic and lemon. Sort of like an overly ripened lemon. that comes across as green tropical fruit, pineapple, plastic, and lemon.. An airy and dry finish. The flavors are quite similar to the base Odell IPA, but with less orange resin and malt sweetness. (Final Rating: 3.82)

It's a very smooth beer, Very crisp easy feel. Odell continues to impress me with the variety of their beers. It's strong enough to be an IPA but feel lighter than that.

Pours a hazy yellow orange with a decent amount of foam / which dissipated quickly. Foam ring and lacing continue. Smells strongly of mango and peach. Some pine and cattiness as well. Sweet caramel flavors come through after a slight bitter hop bite. Stays sweet for a bit and dries out a fair amount. Big line flavors in the after taste. Feel is a bit thin but barely in the medium bodied category. Overall a very flavorful IPA. Well balanced and Hoppy. Would buy again....quite refreshing.

Draft at the Mangy Moose in Jackson, WY. Pours a c;ear amber-gold with a modest off-white head. Initial impression is citrus, orange, grapefruit, mango, and sweet caramel malts. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky; carbonation is OK. Finish is sticky and sweet, with a lingering hops bitterness. OK but not something I'd seek out.

A fine IPA served on tap at Alamo Drafthouse on Slaughter Lane in Austin, TX on a 97 degree June, 2019 day. The light finish was the best part for me as the rest of the experience was in line with the rest of the Odell line. In other words, nothing distinguishing.

Looks just like it should, light golden. Smells of plenty of fruity, citrusy hops. Smells like an ipa. Tastes very fruity and some sweet malt to balance it. Overall it's a great pale ale. Smells and tastes like a big ipa but drinks like an easy pale ale.

Poured into a tulip a hazy golden yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger white head, which also leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, guava), piney. The taste is hoppy, malty, with a nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, guava), piney. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely, with a dry/bitter finish. Overall, a tasty brew.

Poured from a single serve can into a tulip.

Pours a medium-gold slightly hazy and shimmering with a nice foamy two finger head that lingers well.

The aroma has a solid honey malt sweetness with hints of fruitiness balanced well with lemon, orange, mango, pineapple and herbal notes.

The flavor has a solid initial malty/sweet note on the tip of the tongue, followed by an array of citrus flavors, including orange zest, ruby red grapefruit, lemon and lime. The back of the tongue is greeted by white pepper, white grape, and hints of hop resin. The flavor is good, but somewhat subdued.

The brew is not "crisp" or "light" but isn't really all the way to "medium." Excellent carbonation lift, and finish.

Overall a solid APA.

Appearance:
A bright gold with a bleach white head. It doesn't entirely dissipate, but quickly turns into a very thin top layer.

Aroma:
Citrusy hops right in your face!

Body:
Medium Dry with a healthy dose of carb

Flavor:
A light maltiness with tons of citrus hops. Not overly bitter, but heavy floral and citrusy hops!

Overall:
If you're looking to get some hops, but not have an overly bitter beer, this is what you're looking for. It displays all the nice and approachable part of hops, without drowning the malt out with bitter.

I got this off the single shelf from a Binnys near my old stomping grounds. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had orange peel notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet fruit at the front then finish with bitter citrus. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

L- Pours a golden beer with a frothy head. Looks the part.
S- Immediate piney and grassy hop is present. Extremely fresh and well grounded.
T- Piney, grassy and citrusy. Fresh and well fleshed out Pale Ale. Slightly sweet, very fresh. Bitterness is handled extremely well. Doesn't pack a powerful punch but the bitterness is there.
F- Light bodied, refreshing.
O- Just a really damn good Pale ale, and one of the best I've had of the style in a long time. That's really all it is. Just an extremely refreshing beer that rivals Sierra Nevada for sure.

Where is the love? Found this to be a throw back pale ale in composition, with tons of fresh dank and spicy hops to go with orange, lemon, pale malts and grass. Hops actually more explosive in taste than smell, but both rewarding. Feel is hop sharp with plenty of body to ground the resin.
