BEER INFO

Brewed by:
Odell Brewing Company

Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Rupture was born out of our obsession with getting the most out of each and every hop. In fact, we built a machine in our brewery to incorporate a unique fresh grind process. By grinding the whole hop we “rupture” the lupulin inside – releasing the oils that give the beer its flavor. And what we grind that day we use that day. Leaving you a beer that’s fresh, aromatic, with a bright hoppy character.

I cannot rate this beer highly enough. I am generally not a fan of very hoppy beers. I am a malt lover. However, having the hops ground so fresh into the brew changes everything. I have nothing negative to say. Buy more than one pack if you see it because it's often hard to find more.

From a 12oz can:

Appearance: Clear gold, good head.

Smell: Beautiful tropical fruit and pine aroma.

Taste: Nicely sweet up front, tropical fruit flavor comes through, then some citrus bitterness to finish. Very nice!

Overall: I picked up a 6er of this in Iowa and was really impressed. One of the best smelling beers I've ever had, and a really good sweet/hoppy balanced flavor to it. Awesome!

Pour is a light burnt orange, nearly translucent, rapidly dissipating bone white head. Heavy citrus notes on the nose, plus some guava maybe. Something “exotic.”

Taste is oranges, pineapple, and the “exotic” flavor - guava, papaya? Whatever it is, I like it. No real malt presence, though.

This reminds me of SN Hop Hunter - very clean, very hop-forward, feels very “constructed,” if that makes sense. But it’s also a very good APA, IMHO. Glad I tried it.

Poured a clear, golden yellow color with a tan head of bubbly foam. It smelled of citrus (mostly orange) with sweet caramel. Nice, bright and clean IPA with citrus hints and caramel, toffee sweetness.

12oz can best by 12/26/17
Perfectly bright and golden, 1/4" white head that retains for a few minute and falls to a cap...leaves behind some lacing.
Amazing hop aroma - pineapple, faint pine, citrus..any type of delicious hop descriptor you can think of can be inserted here.
Delicious, tastes bright and full of fantastic hop flavor. Finishes clean.
One of the better beers I've had recently. Extremely drinkable.

Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Clear yellow with a frothy head and nice lacing. Very fragrant citrus. Grapefruit taste that is crisp and flavorful. Just the right amount of bitterness. A very good beer!

A 12oz. can with a best by date of 01/05/18 poured in a Storm Peak 'Dogfish Head style IPA glass.

Look- Pours a slightly hazy but brilliant gold producing two fingers of creamy white foam. It slowly settles to a thin cap with heavy lacing left behind.

Smell- Peach, mango, floral notes and grapefruit.

Taste- Peach, pineapple, orange zest floral esters and wet grass followed by some chewy malt.

Feel- Crisp and clean like a lager with a slight hop bite and dry finish.

Overall- A smooth drinking well balanced pale. A bit of a earthy wet hop aspect I'm guessing is from the grinding of the hops. It's a good deal at $9.99 A sixer too!

Look: golden amber with a medium white head and a bit of lacing

Smell: huge pine and resin notes

Taste: dankness, follows the nose with big time pine and resin, very hoppy

Feel: maybe just a touch under carbonated but still good

Overall: this taste more like an IPA than a pale ale but it's really well done, definitely not a gimmick. If you like pine/resin/hoppy beers you'll love this.
