Lovely thick head that refuses to dissipate. Thick lacing. Aroma of lemon, sweet, tart lemon head candy, fresh aromatic delicate pine needles (not resiny). Palate of balanced pine, fresh forest, earth, lemon, lime, grapefruit, wheat bread, floral, roses, grassy, slight bitter grass. Pros insanely balanced, intense but not too dominant with one flavor, long finish, easy drinking, warming rich alcohol wreath. Cons cannot taste the 7% alcohol. 100/100.

This pours with very little head and not much lacing. Smell is fruity, citrus- mostly orange. Taste is just like it smells. Bitterness is spot-on! I love this brew. It's definitely my go-to IPA.

Hazy orange body with fine streams of bubbles that give rise to a fluffy, semi-solid white head with great sticky lace. The nose offers both orange rind and orange flesh, which implies a bit of sweetness is coming. The malts know their place and stay well in the background. It's good, but could use more variety of hop characteristics, and it's plagued by the presence of a wet dog smell. The flavor is solid. The orange and a touch of grapefruit are yummy, there's a bit of spice at the end, and the bitterness is both quenching and sharp. It's like it doesn't even know how cool it is, but it does. Malt profile, again, stays subdued, but offers a bit of caramel malt and grain. The body is medium weight with fine carbonation, all in all refreshing and easy to drink.
This is a solid American IPA. Perfectly within the category, it doesn't go overboard with the hops but still puts them at the forefront. I guess you could say it's balanced. I'd like to see more varieties of those hoppy flavors, but when compared to what other breweries are trying to pass off as IPA's nowadays this was a refreshing return to good craftsmanship.

A: outrageous fluffy, frothy head that does not quit. Great lacing. Light golden amber hue to the liquid.
S: pine, grapefruit. I didn't get the huge aromas other people described, but maybe my nose is having an off day.
T: assertive hops, nice dose of caramel through to a medium-dry finish.
M: medium body, a degree of prickly carbonation
O: Really nice beer. Aesthetically, it is the best looking pour I've had in awhile. glad I got to try it.

Pours a dark ambery red, looks more reminiscent of an amber ale, but has a nice plump crown of slight off-white foam.

Nice bready, toasty, and caramelly malt undertones provide a nice addition to the mainly citrusy and piney hop character.

Pine, citrus, biscuits, and caramel dominate the flavor.

Light-medium bodied, medium carbonation, resinous, piney, dry finish.

Overall, not the best IPA out there, but it does the job.

Split a sixer with my cousin Michelle's husband Rob. He drank it first and, as a new microbrew drinker, loved it. I tried it the next day, during the 2017 US Figure Skating championships in Kansas City, Missouri. It was excellent and a pleasant surprise, since I was trying beers from the area. Highly recommend!

Now this was surprisingly great! The menu at a restaurant had very limited beer but I remembered hearing about this one and ordered it. I was pleasantly surprised. Great IPA: piney, hoppy, floral, citrus. Everything I would want.

A fairly clear tangerine with bubbles rising fast and a finger of off white soapy head that fades slowly to a ring. Spotty lacing. Pretty big orange in the aroma, caramel malt, some lemon, white bread crust. Citrus/orange/lemon bitter bite right off the bat followed by a nice caramel malt wave, and a lingering sweetness that works well with that bitter bite. Nice full carbonation, dry, and medium body. Nice IPA because you get waves of different things happening through each swig.

It's a reliable beer, but considering the wealth of beer in Colorado it's not the best. The good thing is that in Colorado at least, it's widely available and affordable.

Hazy pale amber with one finger of bone color head that lasts about ten minutes. Rings of lace.
Smell is hop resin citrus and slight leather.
Taste is rich bready malts piney resinous citrus zest .
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and well carbonated. Finish is moderately dry and bitter.
Overall a very tasty well crafted American IPA. Glad I found this beer.

This beer pours a clear gold with a large head. The aroma offers medium light malts, orange peel, grapefruit peel, pine, and earthy tones. The flavor again has a mild malt characteristic, with grapefruit, pineapple, orange peel, with pine on the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and foamy. Overall this is a nice, classically flavored IPA.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, "best by" date 1-12-17.

APPEARANCE: pours a clear, copper color with one-finger white head that slowly dissipated until a thin, unbroken layer of small bubbles remained, there is significant lacing on the glass, medium carbonation.

SMELL: bread, caramel, pine and citrus.

TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet caramel and bread then an oily, pine hop profile that lingered.

PALATE: medium body and carbonation.

OVERALL: this is a very good traditional IPA, I would buy this again and would recommend to anyone who enjoys the style.

Another one of those auburn colored ipas. 1/3" head, good lace down the glass. Aroma was earthy and not popping with hops of the pine, tropical or citrus variety.

Woody impressions, malty, had me guessing if this was an English ipa? Or just old? Plenty of crystal malt giving caramel impressions. Slightly boozy.

I dont get the love for this, will try again since O'dells is one of my fave CO breweries, but I dunno man.

On tap at brewery:
Clear classic orange IPA color. A mass of off-white head adorns the beer well into the pour.

Nose is a little grainy - like brew day, probably not helped by a somewhat dry grassy bitterness. There's also a light citrus rind note as well. Grapefruit starts to show itself wit some warmth.

Taste is a step up in impression, though it is reminiscent of the nose. Definitely more bitterness than the nose would indicate, which is a nice "correction" for me. Green citrus rind and pith, with a hint of pine wood in the end.

A fairly classic IPA in general, but a little more grainy (not malty, though) in its flavor. It doesn't quite get as piney as some, but sticks to a pithy bitterness that is present much of the taste, and draws on the tongue by mid-taste through the end.

Look is solid gold! Lacing is exceptional. Smell is pine and citrus. Taste is smooth hop goodness. Mouthfeel is just the right amount of lasting oily goodness. Very good beer. Interesting combination of hops.

Aroma: Great citrus and pine hop aroma Appearance: Golden in color, slightly hazy. Keeps a creamy white head Taste: Starts sweet and malty and finishes with a clean bitterness that doesn’t linger too long. Definitely pick up some grapefruit on the back end Mouthfeel: Medium body with a slight creaminess. Alcohol warmth on the finish Overall: Great hop aroma, more so than a normal IPA. Nice sweet malt character. Has a clean, crisp bitterness that doesn’t linger thru the next drink. Overall a great IPA

Copper pour, a finger of white head, excellent lacing. Nice looking IPA. Nose is fruity citrus hops. Maybe a bit of cookie malt. Flavor is likewise - huge hops. Fruity citrus flavors. A touch of spice at the back of the mouth. As with the nose, a touch of malty biscuits. Smooth - no element of bitter bite, just a nice balanced beer, particularly impressive given the hop content. Strong carbonation works well with the hop presence. Really a delicious beer, one that I'd have again if I could find it.

A- pours a caramel brown with burnt orange tints. layers of off white head that leaves a comet trail of hops on the glass after each sip.

S - Citrus rind, hops plentiful, malts subdued but they are in there, some bread dough comes through after a deep sniff.

T - Wow, the first thing that I can say about this is that it is smooth as hell and extremely well balanced. Nothing harsh or overly hopped on the front end and just has an easy drinking balance of hops and malts. Flavors that stand out are citrus hops, grapefruit, piney, resin, caramel malts, and some biscuity flavors and bread dough.

O - Extremely smooth and drinkable IPA that I would put in my regular repertoire if I could get it regularly.

Note - obtained at Schnuck's in Cape Girardeau, MO while on our summer 2016 family reunion.

Sharp and crisp, this beer means business. The golden orange, or orangery gold, color is unique, but the clarity of the brew is undeniable. Clear flavor, with a delightful bite. Wonderful fragrance. This is a fantastic beer.

Why can't I find this here?
Can stamped with a "drink by" date I assume: 09/09/16.
Pours a amber gold with hues of peach haloing. Immense 3+ fingers of fluffy sandy foam leaps toward me. But, I am ready. Big, clumsy, arthritic-hand doily lacing beckons me.
Aroma is glorious. The heavens waft floral lemon, orange, pine, and caramel and bready malt.
Flavors are even more enticing. The citrusy notes are gracefully sharing the spotlight with lemongrass and pine, and the malts too are complex. Again, I get both caramel and ready notes. Even a slight hint of peppery rye peeks through shyly.
Mouthfeel is perfect.
Overall, I guess the color is slightly darker in the amber range than is typical for the style. But there's no way in hell I'd knock it down for that. This beer is damn near perfect.

I have to give props to Odell for marketing and style, but about the beer...

Taste-- Definitely one of the finest IPAs I have tried. It starts out with a mildly salty, pine taste, and ends resinous and sappy, with an aftertaste that sticks as long one might expect that sap would.

Overall-- At 7% alcohol, it's rather intoxicating. That combined with the amount of hops infused into this beer make it quite relaxing.

S - big flowery, pine, grapefruit, tropical fruits
T - big flowery hops, pine, grapefruit, tropical fruits, some mango/peach, similar to Two Hearted
M - light to medium, alc covered, aftertaste is grapefruit and flowery hops
O - nice. A classic.

really good beer. I'm partial to, and picky about, my IPAs. This one makes the cut!

light amber, maybe more golden. thin head. good lacing. a little hazy.
nice aroma but I'd like a stronger hop presence
taste...very balanced. you can taste the hops but I couldn't really smell them, which is odd. balances though..not JUST the hop flavor. some lingering pleasant bitterness.
feel...medium to full bodied. good carbonation without beng "fizzy"
overall...sold, very solid. will have it more often

Look: 4.5
Very very clear copper color. Decent amount of head and great retention. After the head depletes, a great deal of carbonation and lacing continues.

Smell: 4.5
Very aromatic and hoppy. Citrus, malt, over-ripe fruit, and earthiness.

Taste: 4.5
Great bitterness upfront. IBUs seem to be closer to a Double IPA (listed as 70 IBUs). Bitterness fades only slightly before the rush of sweet malt and savory butter flavors come in. Dries out quickly and fades with a smoky wood and nutty flavor after taste.

Feel: 4.5
Medium bodied. Quite active throughout the drinking experience.

Overall: 4.5
Great beer. I saw it on the list of top 50 brews in the country and, since I live in Colorado, had to grab one finally and try it (a bit ashamed of myself for never trying it before). Strong bitterness, malty, and hoppy. No one category is overpowering and very well balanced between all of them. Powerful. Will buy again.
