on tap at papago...

pours a hazy pale copper color with a soft soap foam-like head. immense amounts of foam rings and webby lace is almost unreal.

the aroma is very earthy... almost like wood with notes of grapefruit, leafy hops, pine and caramel maltiness.

malt sweetness is a touch high for me but the level of bitterness and it's parching qualities keep me coming back. the flavor reminds me of sweetened yellow grapefruit juice (the real thing not the canned crap)... along with a solid malt backbone, orange pith and peel and some pine-like leafy green hops.

the body is medium but the carbonation is very soft which makes it really creamy on the tongue.

this is a great food friendly beer that can be consumed all night! 7/4/7/4/16/3.8

Apperance: Pours an orange amber with a huge frothy head that sticks to the glass and sticks around as well.

Smell: Smells like an american IPA should. Piney, fruity, and delicious. Not an incredibly strong aroma though but still smells great.

Taste: Strong and piney. Finishes nice and fruity.

Overall, a great beer for any hop lover. Me personally, I tihnk I'm at the point where I need to steer away from hoppy beers for a little while

Poured into a New Belgium globe glass.

Poured a 1 finger head, that dissipated over a minute or so. Golden orange in color.

Smells hoppy, Piney, and citrusey.

Tastes pretty hoppy, and a little bit watery.

Mouthfeel is very good. medium carbonation leaving me with a crisp feeling.

This beer is easy to drink. Its a very good IPA.

Bottle poured into imperial pint glass. Best buy date of 10/18/2011, so this guy should be pretty fresh here in the front end of August. Thanks to Titosupertramp for bringing this one back from a road trip.

A- Somewhat bright golden. Slightly hazy. Two fingers of whispy white head that leaves a clear ring as it recedes.

S- Big grapefruit hop aromas. A slight bitterness, and maybe a tiny sourness to it. Very nice.

T- The grapefruit is not as prominent a player on the tongue. While still nicely there, it is a sharp pine bitterness that takes center first, followed by a wash of grapefruit. A lingering bitterness.

M- Medium bodied. Nicely carbonated, and easy drinking.

O- This a very, very solid IPA, and one that I wish I had regular access to.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a perfect pint.

Pours a deep, clear golden color with a big, rocky white head, clearer than I would have expected for the style. Head recedes slowly and leaves some nice lacing as it goes. Nose is lots of citrus hops with some herbal notes in the background, very aromatic. Taste, as one would expect, is lots of hops. Mostly citrus but really a little bit of everything as far as hops go. Tons of hop flavor and plenty of bitterness, but not so much that it is overwhelming or blocks out the grainy malt backbone. Medium bodied with a bit of a sticky finish. Dangerously drinkable considering it clocks in at 7%. This was the first beer I tried after moving to Colorado and has become maybe my favorite IPA. A fitting 100th review.

Look: Hazy golden amber. Short head hangs around. light carbonation.

Smell: Little Lemony. Little Piney. Little Minty.

Taste: More pine than on the nose. Sweet malts are complimented nicely by the subtle lemony citrus notes. Fairly complex and very well balanced. Not very bitter

Feel: Body is pretty close to perfect. Finishes fairly dry. a little oily.

Overall: Not a very bad everyday sixer. Don't really think it's as great as some other IPAs I've had. Can't really think of a situation I'd actively seek this one out. There are other daily sixers I'd much rather have. Maybe if I'm in Fort Collins.

This is a great beer in a sense that you can get it anywhere here in Arizona. I am glad I am able to buy this on a regular basis and I believe it is a good tasting beer that you can have on any occasion. Might I add this is very affordable.

Taste: Has an awesome hop taste, the one im drinking imparticular must have been a tad older, but still held proper hop characteristic

mouthfeel: has your IPA mouthfeel, pretty damn awesome and is the perfect between creamy and light mouthfeel.

aroma: Like I said this was probably an older bottle, but overall the smell is good. Citrus *like armarillo hops*

overall: This is a great beer for someone to experience. This is something they brew all year round that offers a very citrusy and partially balanced IPA. It has some alcohol content to get you feelin good which is always good, but you don't get that crazy burn from the beer. I fully recommend it if you haven't tried it and for $9 a six pack, can't be beaten.

BB date of 12/12/15. Pours a nice filtered amber color. I don't find this strikingly hop forward like West Coast IPAs but definitely a solid IPA. Aroma of pine and citrus with a similar taste except I pick up add'n hints of fruit like peach and maybe mango. This beer improves as it warms up. Its well balanced and not overly bitter or sweet.

A - Pours a straw colored yellowish orange with two finger head. Lacing clings to side of glass.

S - Citrus, orange, a bit of ganja.

T - Crisp citrus hops, lemon, orange, again that hint of ganja and that bitter wave of hops followed by just barely noticeable malt backbone and dry finish.

M - Medium with good carbonation and dry finish.

O - This is a very solid IPA and a staple in my fridge. Finally getting around to reviewing this great beer. I go back and forth with this and two hearted as my go to IPA's. Definitely seek out if available.

A - Slight hazy, amber to gold color. Good size, lacy, ivory colored head with good retention.

S - love the smell - very citrusy.

T - Citrusy hop character as well, not too malty sweet. Hops dominate. Nice bitterness that endures after drinking.

M - smooth with moderate viscosity.

D - This beer goes down smooth, but after a couple of them you know you've drank some beer, both from the "fullness factor" and the 7% ABV will sneak up on you.

Overall this is one of my go to's for American IPA.

Great beer here from Odell Brewing.
I bought this as a single while in Denver for vacation, but I wish I had picked up a sixer.
Lighter colored IPA, yellowish amber with decent head and lacing.
Very citric and floral bouquet in the nose, with the perfect hop flavor shining through the bitter foundation.
Very good IPA.

Poured into a tulip glass a uninviting straw-piss colour... alas, the disappointment ends there! Aroma opens with a slight pine scent and a the scent of fresh hoppy goodness :) .... has a very good amount of hop character and a Pine-citrus finish.... THIS ONE IS A MUST TRY!!

Snagged a few in CO on a drive across country. Looks like a best by date of 11/2013

Pours a lovely golden orange with clean white head, mild visible carbonation

Aroma- fragrant pink grapefruits and tropical fruit, strong green herbal presence, chewy malt

Taste- follows nose. Sweet, bitey citrus with pink grapefruit zest and orange, some tropical fruits (light mango, passion fruit), herbal spice and a touch of pine with pale and caramel malts. Finishes with some herbal spice, orange and grapefruit zest

Feel- standard west coast IPA (great)

Well I picked up a bushel of various Colorado beers that I don't typically see on either coast, and I'm going to assume that they all will have trouble beating this brew. Fantastic IPA, delicious and layered hop presence that isn't too abrasive.

12 oz Bottle poured into a pint glass (looking back, this may not have been the best choice for glass).

A-Very good looking dark gold, almost orange color. Thick foamy 11/2 finger head.

S- Exceptional smell. Very light and fruity citrus smell at first, almost a tropical smell. The spicy smell of hops is present, but not overpowering.

T- Very complex. There is a very light fruitiness, which is followed by typical bitterness from the hops. The bitterness is not as high as I like. I think that the hops are offset by the malt flavor of the beer. Although I prefer a more bitter IPA, I really do admire the complexity of this beer. I think Odell had some very good ideas with this beer.

M- Very light and smooth. Good.

D- A solid beer. I wouldn't mind having a few of these in one sitting, but I think I would get tired of it after a few.

Appearance - Beautiful pale orange color with that poured to a one inch head.

Smell - ermagerd!! Beautiful tropical and citrus notes leap from the glass. I seriously could smell this beer all night long. Amazing!

Taste - malty sweetness upfront gives way to an assault of citrus flavor with a tingle of dry bitterness at the end. Unbelievable flavor that lingers well after the beer is swallowed.

Mouthfeel - thick enough without being to cloying or sticky. Perhaps even a creaminess to it.

Overall- One of the best IPAs in the world. Outrageous aromatics with the flavor to match.

Pours a clear gold/light amber with a sizeable white head. Superb aroma - absolutely love it! Definite citrus (tangerine, grapefruit) and very hoppy. Taste - bitter, dry to the end. Head diminishes, but lacing strong through the finish. Fantastic IPA and would definitely buy again - Cheers!

Received in a trade with Tolann - thank you so much!
I could sit and write about this beer for some time, but I gotta keep it brief tonight. 12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Big seafoam creme head, topping at almost 2 fingers and loitering for an eternity. Whence finally gone, left in its path is the dankest web of sticky lacing this side of Ft. Collins. Slight haze in the body, bright honey orange. The archetypal IPA.

Dreamy nose, so well done. Brilliant notes of mango and grapefruit. Alive, ripe and in your face. Picking up only a touch of grass and grain. One of the better IPA's I've had the pleasure of smelling. Taste is quite a feat as well, lemony and citric, a bounty of fruity hop qualities cover the tongue. Light to medium in body, but obtaining a fair amount of resiny oily slickness that pools and makes my mouth water. In the midst of this, there is a full, creamy yeastiness, and just enough pale malt to be detectable. Finishes full and sweet, which at times is overwhelming, but usually very enjoyable.

A very well crafted IPA, a very fine example of the modern style.

A - Pours a translucent golden straw color with a moderate off white head that leaves some moderate lacing.

S - Mild citrus hops with a equally present malt sweetness.

T - I like my IPAs a little more bitter. This is very well balanced between the hops and the malt. Mildly citurs and sweet. A good brew, just not really my style.

M - Sticky sweetness and moderate viscosity.

D - At 7%, not strong enough to be a sipper but not light enough to be easily sessionable. The building sweetness surely limits me.

Poured this bottle into a pint glass. no bottled on date but best but 4/16/2011.

A- Pours a nice and beautiful hazy straw brown with a bit of amber color. A small maybe half in of head appears with has a few fish eye bubbles. Opaque, and difficult to see through. Showing little to no carbonation.

S- A nice hoppy aroma right up front. Extremely floral. Sweet and candy like,. Fruity, apples, lemons, and grapes. A great overall aroma.

T- A bitter kind of metallic finish. Dry. Great hoppiness right up front. A bright citrus flavor that really pops. Grain and bread like flavor are prominent. A light malt character.

M&D- Overall amazing texture on the pallet. Floral hops stick to the sides of the mouth and throat. A low carbonation seems to make the brew a bit thicker than most.

This is one of the finest brews from O'Dells. I really like the beer and like the floral aroma that incorporates the complexity.

Loved this IPA.

It poured a light honey amber with abundant head that had good retention. Floral hops eviscerated my nose and mouth in a way that only bold West-Coast hopping can. Thick mouthfeel kept the hops there a long, long time. And while I'm sure there's malt in here to balance the flavor, I couldn't taste it.

One of the most pleasant aspects of this beer is the finish. It leaves that hop bitterness in the back of your throat, but it still finishes smooth with a bit a fruity sweetness. The beer's truly bittersweet.

In terms of Fort Collins IPAs, this one gives Ranger a run for it's money. It's bold, and I liked it for completely different reasons (see the last paragraph). For the money, an incredibly flavorful, drinkable IPA.

Pours a nice straw color, pretty clear and not much head. Smells great! The smell, and the taste is very tropical/piney. I'd love to know the hop profile, because it's got a certain tropical note that I'm guessing is citra, but I'd love to know. A tad low on the carbonation scale, but feels nice in your mouth, tastes great... I'm really pleasantly surprised by this, which was included in a trade as an extra. Top notch IPA!

Served in a shaker, it pours a golden amber color, diaphanous and clear as crystal, with a good one inch foamy head with good retention and good lacing.

The bouquet is citric, but other fruits prevail. Tropical notes of passion fruit, mango, papaya, pineapple, tangerine. Assertive and delicious.

Balanced all throughout. The malty sweetness is intertwined with the fruity notes and the hoppy bitterness from the very beginning, and the finish is long. Once it started to warm up a bit the pine became evident too.
Good and pleasant carbonation. Medium to full body, extra smooth and silky; you drink a fruity cream with this one.

Excellent beer, one that I will seek again for sure.

Appearance: Straw-gold with a pure white, cakey head ~1/2" and tons of CO2 bubbling through

Aroma: Sweet hops and citrus with touches of roasted malt.

Flavor: Big hop bitterness up front leading a syrupy and grassy sweet finish that is cloying and lingering. It seems to border on a DIPA it terms of malt backbone, but not in the mouthfeel and body. Easily drinkable without too much to weigh it down.

A friend gave me this little brew. Thanks Dan.

Pours slightly hazy yellow to gold with a tad of head (I just rinsed the glass). Smells nice with citrusy focus. Tastes great! Nice layered apple, pear and other hop character flavors with a nice toasty malt balance. I like it! This one could get a little syrupy to the wrong person, but I can deal with it.

-Bye
