Notes / Commercial Description:
Mountain Style IPA is brewed with modern, American hop varieties which bring tropical hop aromas of pineapple, orange, and mango. poured from can to pint glass.

A: hazy, light yellow-golden in color, low rising off-white head with low retention that settles down to a thin ring.
S: light citrus/lemon/mango/orange, fair amount of hop, sweet biscuit malt.
T: follows the nose. starts juicy, hits a bit of hop, then backs it up with malty sweetness. hop is shelved in favor of "good-times" in the form of sweet and citrusy business.
F: high end of medium carbonation, medium body, and quite dry there at the end.

Overall (personal opinion):
with "standard" in the name, you can't help but hope for the same now could you? not the bravest of Odell's offerings, and honestly, if I had started here at this brew for the brewery, I would have never gotten what the fuss was about. lucky for them, I know better. I wouldn't recommend to anyone if I was looking for brownie points unless they were coming into the IPA game fresh and shaky like a baby deer. at the same time, it wasn't terrible. "standard" stuff, I suppose...but far from setting one.

Appearance: Pours a completely hazy and bright lemony color with a strong head that lingers, but isn't sticky.
Aroma: Strong aromas of pineapple all the way. Very light and airy. Some orange and honeydew. A good pine presence as well. Little to no malt aroma. Pale if any.
Taste: Taste follows the nose mostly. Tons of pineapple and pine upfront. A little grapefruit tartness and deep red grape sweetness. The pineapple and pine are really showecased. There is actually a woodiness that reminds me of a recently lit firework. Not sure what strain of wood. Maybe the pineapple and pine create this flavor. Some mango, but no melon. Pale bread crumb malts, but some deep red wine sweetness too that reminds me of Communion.
Feel: Medium bodied. Not creamy, but airy. Carbonation makes it finish completely dry, almost as dry as a brut.

Overall: This is a fantastic IPA that is trying to define a style. It captures the juiciness of a NEIPA, but has a thin, rather than cream malt body. It's airy, but has a bite and not creamy. Plus, it packs a very pleasant pine bite. You can really taste the Rocky mountain pines in this. There is a unique firework component this that is puzzling. It really captures the airy and piney Rocky Mountains which is quite impressive. I'd vote for the style, but it needs to define itself slightly more.

Poured from a can into a tulip.

Pours a pale/straw hazy--nearly cloudy-- gold with a fine three-fingered foamy/pillowy head.

The aroma is very tropical-fruit forward. One of the strongest pineapple aromas I've met in an IPA. Hints of mango, nectarine, and ruby-red grapefruit. Very little bitter hop aroma, appearing mostly as an herbal/floral/lemongrass note.

The flavor is initially simple, but diversifies as the brew warms. Pineapple/mango/nectarine on the tip of the tongue. Faint honey, white pepper, white grape, and pear notes. Very little booze. A touch of pine bitterness at the finish. Very light and bright flavors.

The mouthfeel is actually heavier than one might expect, given the other attributes. Medium bodied in its own right, it skews almost medium-full for the style. Well-carbonated, however, it is not sticky or lacking in lift. The finish is rather dry in light of the initial sweetness.

Overall, a rather sweet, but not "juicy" IPA. Subtle and understated, but with plenty of flavor.

Pours an effervescent & slightly hazed gold with 2 fingers of rocky eggshell colored head. Above average lacing & average head retention

S: Tropical fruit & citrus, stays strong

T: Follows the nose, orange, mango, passion fruit, plus dryness up front. A touch of green melon as this warms, a little orange, lemon & dryness as well. Finishes dry with green melon & passion fruit

MF: Medium body, firm carbonation, nice balance

Well done IPA, very drinkable

Presentation: 12 oz. can with a best by date printed on the bottom. Served in Willi Becher glass.

Appearance: The dense, bubbly, bright white, two finger head stays around for a very long time and leaves behind a lot of lacing in thick patches. it's a hazy, bright, pale yellow.

Smell: It's a beautiful aroma of orange, tangerines and grapefruit. There are floral and pine notes along with some grains in the background and that's it.

Taste: It's bright and fruity at first with hints of orange and grapefruit. Then there's a slight malt sweetness to balance things out. It finishes with a hint of pine resin bitterness in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: It's light but it feels slightly creamy but it's mostly just crisp and refreshing with medium carbonation.

Overall: A fruity, well made, easy to drink IPA that's very enjoyable and doesn't get boring despite being fairly simple with low bitterness.

Poured from can into tulip, good 2 finger head, good retention and lacing. Pale, bright opaque orange in the glass. Smells like they wanted it to, pineapple, orange, mango some lingering pine. Taste is bright pineapple and citrus on the front, some mango and slight dankess in the middle with a very mild bitterness. There is perhaps a touch of vegetation in the middle but it is nothing like other NEIPA's I have had. This is a really good beer. I am not a big fan of NEIPA, but this one brings the best parts of those to the table with a good finishing bitterness to finish the sip. Kept going back to this six pack in the fridge because it always seemed like the beer I wanted at the time. Great addition to Odell's already strong IPA lineup.

On draught at Old Chicago.

Pours a little hazy straw gold, excellent head of foam and lacing.

Smells of tropical fruit, pineapple, little bit of grass.

Taste has the tropical fruit, pineapple, grapefruit, all in fairly light doses. Tasty though

Good mouthfeel, good IPA.

12 oz can, best by 6/25/19. Pours very hazy light straw yellow with a medium creamy white head that retains fairly well and laces the glass some.

The aroma is sweet tropical fruit and resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet cracker malt with juicy tropical fruit and a resiny floral hop finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.

Overall, a solid IPA.

Pours a hazy straw yellow with large head. Smell is instantaneous citrus and mango upon the pour. Wonderful aroma. Taste is juicy pineapple and tart but ripe citrus. This is an interesting take on the New England IPA. Light and effervescent body let’s the hops take center stage. Really nice pale ale.

Bright yellow and cloudy body; frothy, soapy white head; thick but patchy; some flecks of foam sticking to the glass. Citrus and tropical fruit aroma; strong scent of tangerine and pineapple. Very juicy taste, following along the lines of the aroma; decent bitterness underlying the fruity and low-malt flavors. Medium-heavy body; slight tartness with some pronounced dryness overall.

A nice enough IPA, definitely leaning towards the citrus and juicy side of things.
