Notes: A mystical legend echoes in our brew house—that of St. Lupulin (loop-you-lin), the archetypal hophead. He devoted endless summers to endless rows of hops, tending to the flowers and the beloved resin within—lupulin. Extraordinary oils in this yellow resin provide this dry-hopped extra pale ale with an undeniably pleasing floral aroma and clean, crisp finish. One sip of this seasonal summer ale and you too will believe.

Best by 8/14/2013, so about 12 days old. 12 oz bottle.

A: Clear body, on the lighter side for color. Excellent retention, which is what I've come to expect from Odell.

S: More malt than hops, which is fine for the style.

T: Nice, mellow bitterness from the hops. Lots of citrus. Malt comes over at the end and gives this one a great finish.

M: Carbonation levels are right where they need to be. Pretty sessionable beer.

O: Solid APA from Odell. I'll be drinking more of these this summer.

12oz can, sample from the brewery.

This is an amazing looking brew, perfect looking clarity within the pale amber hue and the head drops a curtain of lacing down the glass. Smells of find citrus zest, wild flowers, and some breadiness. Smooth with a tight crispness, a good amount of body shows this beer is about balance as the maltiness builds up enough to keep the hops in check. Prick of hop bitterness, slightly toasted bread crust, pear-like fruitiness, kiss of caramel, and a mildly estery alcohol. Way too easy to knock back.

Yellow/orange, light, mildly opaque beer. Little head that maintains a small ring as it travels down the glass. Nice wash of lacing.

Smell is pretty toned down like a standard pale ale - mostly some grass, faint lemon, smooth. Taste is a little tart, where the floral hops, grass, lemon, and pale malts show their true character. Yeasty malts are muted by the array of sunny charm.

It is definitely a turned up APA, with a tiny bit of bitterness. Really light and the easy drinking aspect is really nice. Slightly hydrating to the pallet.

Enjoyed this wonderful brew on tap. Poured into a pint glass; it's a lovely, clear golden color with dense white foam that leaves lacing down the glass.
The aroma is citrus, pineapple and mango and a hint of candied fruit and sweet biscuit.
The taste SO delivers. Lots of tropical fruit and citrus with a hint of pine bitterness at the end.
The mouthfeel is awesome! Smooth and creamy. The alcohol is totally hidden.
Overall, a delicious and very refreshing pale ale. Among my favorites in this style.

Hazy orange in color with very little in the way of aroma. Like drinking a bit bowl of fruit with citrus juice. Sweet and mellow. Juicy and fresh. As good as plain old good gets.

Poured from a can into a tulip.

Pours a crystal clear light amber gold. An excellent soapy/foamy head with outstanding retention and lacing.

The initial aroma is malty with fruity, floral, and grassy hop notes. It is simple, but very inviting. Each of the hop aromas is very easy to discern.

The brew has a solid bready and caramel malt backbone that hits the tip of the tongue. The mid-palate is greeted by a fruit melange of grapefruit, white grape, peach, and orange. Very well balanced between sweetness and bitterness. The finish provides tingly grassy hop and a touch of booze

The brew is solidly medium-bodied and creamy, with restrained carbonation. Very smooth with a neutral but satisfying finish.

A nice APA. The hops are very present, but the brew doesn't ever threaten to cross over into IPA territory, as the fruity malty notes remain the star. Tasty.

Golden color with a fluffy white head - a little light but not too bad an APA. Some hazing, with some decent streaming bubbles. Nose is clean, but some citrics and mild floral notes. Peppery, fairly dry.

The flavor is mellow, hop forward but relatively mild in general. Some citric and herbal bitterness; with the malt bringing a hint of caramel sweetness.

Drinkability is the key for this style. St. Lupulin isn't a bad one, but it's a little too mild for me.

Copper colored pour, with good clarity and 2/3" white head. Aroma was packed with dry hops. Light body, big time hops.

What it does great is pack a nice amount of hops without going heavy on bitterness or crystal malt. Instead of pushing the citrus aspect with rind and lemon, they went with the hops to bring out the citrus flavors that go beyond lemon/grapefruit.

Really impressive how green the hop flavor is for a beer made almost as far away from harvest time as you can come up with.
