Kriek Lambic blended from three different aged beers up to 2 years old, aged in Woodcut barrels.
With every batch of Friek we set out to create a unique blend of framboise (raspberry sour sale) and traditional lambic kriek (cherry sour ale). Each year, multiple generations of kriek ale age patiently in oak barrels, some dating back ten years in our cellar. Fresh raspberries are then added to the wild fermented brew just prior to the final blending, creating a subtle sweetness to balance the tart cherry flavors and the effervescent dry finish.

750ml Bottle - Pours a light hazey ruby with 1.5 finger foam head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is of sweet cherry and raspberry with a distinct earthiness coupled with oak. Tastes of mild tart cherry, however, there is a gentle sweetness that becomes more pronounced and lingers. A delicious combination. Alcohol is very much disguised and it's quite light in body. This was a real gem to taste.

On tap at The Brass Tap, Cedar Falls, IA; served in a snifter. Hazy, pink grapefruit juice-colored body, with a white head and a bit of pretty lacing. Aromas and flavors of light malt, cherry, and raspberry, with a pleasant wild-ale "funk." Lots of umami on the palate. Tart but not overly so, a little bitter, crisp, light, well-balanced, and lip-smackingly delicious. An outstanding beer.

The color has a raspberry red and is slightly cloudy. The smell is slightly fruity. The taste is not too sour, but has a nice tartness on the front end. The finish is sour on the back of the tongue and has a slight barrel taste. Over all this is a good bottled sour from odell and is worth a try. it does not have the depth that a lot of other barrel sours aspire to be, but it is really easy to drink.

Taste follows. tart cherry, followed by sweet ripe raspberries, firm but not unpleasant lemony sour. A hint of tart green apple.

Look: rhubarb color, medium white-pink head that quickly dissappates to nothing
Smell: tart apple & rasberry
Taste: tart rasberry and apple, not completely dry, some sweetness under the tart,
Feel: medium feel, high carbonation
Overall: very tart, but pleasantly so, fruity and well rounded. The GF was a big fan and "she's not a fan of beer". So there's that.

Bottled 2017/A it looks like it says, faded out, in a black box with white letters in the bottom left corner of the label. 12oz bottle with a foil-wrapped cap poured into Lindemans flute.
Appearance - Thin white head with very slight lacing with no stick. Quickly dissipates into a thin ring. Maybe a little on the small and short lived side. Slightly hazy light amber brown body that gets darker as you get closer to the yeast sediment on the bottom of the bottle. 4.5
Smell - Tart sour raspberry and cherry. Alcohol is completely hidden despite being a healthy 6.9%. 4.75
Taste - Tart sour raspberry and cherry. Once again, alcohol is completely hidden. 4.75
Mouthfeel - Extremely clean and refreshing. 5
Overall - No flaws whatsoever. No unpleasant lingering aftertaste. No weird artificialness. Possibly a near perfect example of the style. 5

Absolute fire, they could have picked one fruit and I think it would be excellent. In a night a tried a lot of great things I remeber this the most. Excellent fruit flavor and smoothness, the alcohol tastes non existent

Friek Raspberry Cherry Sour aged in Oak barrels
cloudy ruby red with red-tinged white head with minimal retention
aroma is sour cherry with sweet and sour tinge and earthy raspberry comes across damp and dank
taste follows the nose, with a deep funk of oak aged bugs
high carbonation, medium light body, effervescent as ever and finishing dry and earthy
overall:
wild. but perfected. neat. effervescent. cultivated may be the most appropriate word - drenched in weirdness and sweet and sour oak aged bugs.

Serving: 12 oz bottled (“Bottled 2018A”) poured into a Spiegelau beer tulip.
Appearance: Clear, deep and dark ruby pink. Just a brief cap of airy head the quickly dissipated without lacing.
Smell: Bright, fresh raspberry aromas followed by sweeter, jammier notes, straw and light buttery barrel notes.
Taste: Plenty of juicy fresh raspberries and cherry hard candies. Closes with a tart, lactic acid finish.
Mouthfeel: Light body with soft, gentler carbonation.
Overall: Bright, refreshing and berry forward.
