Absolutely wonderful and delicious double IPA I received from my Dad and Sherrie when they were in Florida for this last year's winter vacation of 2017. They gave me a 12 ounce can. Tried it right away and was not disappointed at all. A MUST HAVE DOUBLE IPA! Thanks Dad and Sherrie!

Deep, dark honey blonde with a tall white fluffy head.

Juicy, lovely, piney hops that make my mouth water. Hints of honey, juicy orange. Wow.

Flavor is heavy on pine, followed by grapefruit rind and honey, and then astringent alcohol. It's a little harsher than I care for, but still pretty delicious. I'd like to try this canned within a week to see if it's different.

Feel is heavy and resinous, with quite a bit of carbonation.

Overall I wish this was more juicy than it is. It's still a solid IIPA though.

L: Pours a very cloudy orange with a decent head, it leaves some nice lacing.
A: Tropical stuff, flowery, grapefruit, pineapple and mango.
T: All of the above and more.
F: More body than I expected, yet clean, crisp and refreshing.
O: I've seen the word "juicy" thrown around with IPA's, now I think I know what it means. Awfully good beer.

Deep golden body; thick, sticky, white head. Sweet, citric, pine-like aroma; some biscuit and cracker malt notes. Huge hop bitterness and subtle yet rich malt sweetness flavors; dried, yellow pit fruits; a unique pine and honey combination; noticeable yet balanced alcohol presence. Heavy body; crisp and coarse on the palate; plenty of alcohol dryness plus some rich residual sugary feel.

I'm surprised that I haven't reviewed this beer until now as I've been drinking this beer for years. Regardless, one can't go wrong with this DIPA. It's held up well over the years and still delivers. It hits all the sensory notes neatly for appearance, aroma, taste and mouthfeel. It's bold yet balanced; complex and quite enjoyable for a big beer. A must try...

Brandished copper body with thin dirty white head. Lacing is full...lots of stick. Aroma is quite fragrant and redolent. Mint, tea leaves, calendula.... This is a great tasting DIPA. One of my favorites. Love me some Myrcene. I get mango, cannabis, bay leaves, mint, lemongrass. lavander and eucalyptus oil. Bitterness is minimal and so clean. This beer is just sooo clean in general. No sign of the high ABV on the buds. Love this stuff. Want to bathe in it.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 oz can on February 8, 2017. Can stamped 05/13/17. Very nice floral aromas and tropical fruit flavors. Clean finish. Highly recommended.

Pours gold with a rosy-peach hue - how delightful!

Lots of resinous oils and clementine fill the nose and palette. I'm more of a fan of the floral flavours in a good IPA - and while they are here, this leans much more toward the piney side of the spectrum. That said, I often find such prominent pine to be one-note, but it mingles very well here, and is balanced in the lemony finish.

I couldn't ask for much more in the way of mouthfeel. This combines perfectly tickly carbonation, a medium-smooth finish, and a clingy, dry coating. I wish that there were more in the way of a head to lend some contrasting creamy notes. I'll say it again - delightful!

This beer pours a pale gold with a large head. The aroma has a huge citrus presence, big grapefruit and tangerine oils, as well as bright pine and a whiff of alcohol. The flavor begins with a huge bit of bitterness, with flavors or grapefruit, tangerine, pine, and just a touch of malt sweetness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, lighter than one might expect for the style, which I love. Overall this is a huge beast of a beer, bold, full of citrus, and yet somewhat dry, just touches of stickiness.

Woah, this feels like a glass of hop oil. It is pungent, overripe tropical fruit, oily resin. It isn't my favorite hop profile I've had but it is super enjoyable. If you dig deep pungent hoppiness with some very ripe peaches and passion fruit, then this is your jam. Mouthfeel continues the feeling of hop oil with lower carbonation and an oily bitterness left on the tounge. I prefer the profile of their regular pIPA (one of my favorite all time) but this is extremely well executed!

What a great surprise this beer is!

Poured into a pint glass at Fresh Craft Denver.

Look - crystal clear light copper champagne bubles and a nice lingering white head.
Smell - Fresh Floral, Grapefruit, savory malt, Honey? Herbs? Not sure but something unexpected and great.
Taste - Bitter not sweet citrus, Tropical fruit, Floral, more malty herbalness. A bitter dry finish. Almost like there is a touch of Rye in the Grist.
Feel - Perfect. Clingy, hangs on until you process past the fruit and get the real base character of the beer.
Overall - Read my other reviews. i hate IPA's. They really can be an excuse for self indulgent over bitter or pineapply schlocky why do I love this beer so much. Balance. Complexity. Lots I can't place but lots that makes me want to keep trying! Excellent!

Absolutely exceptional beer. Worth the drive or plane flight out here. Highlight of the trip. Got this in a 10 oz glass from the Dark Horse Tavern on tap. So, so, so good. Nice and bitter and strong. Has a really strong, though drinkable flavor. Highly recommended.

Light, glowing copper in color with several fingers of thick, fluffy head. Floral hop aroma, pine resin, with a touch of sweet honey. Taste is at turns floral, dank, and tropical, with honey biscuit maltyness. Light bitterness on the end. Solid and always worth a pour.

This beer is righteous, and it has kick! It is a double IPA, and it tastes damn good! Maybe world class. I don't know, pass me another bottle. It is good stuff. Pliny the Elder is better. Stone drink by IPA is better. But not by much amigos, and amigas. Firestone Double IPA is in the range. Let's do a blind taste test with this Myrcenary D IPA vs the best beers in the world and it won't have anything to be ashamed of. Yum.

excited to be in the southwest questing for a worthy IPA and this one fits the bill. Up there with some of the best doubles in the NE though there is a definite bite to this one that doesn't hide the abv

A damn good Double IPA with citrus and grape fruit flavor profile. Definitely a good beer to end the night with. Drank this at WoB (World of Beer). 4.75/5 would drink again.

Has a big aroma of fruits, citrus, pine, earth. Fruit really comes through in the taste, also pine, honey, grapefruit. Finishes bitter. Some caramel malt balances things out. Also some alcohol. A wonderful double IPA, dangerously drinkable yet incredibly flavorful.

Aroma is pine, hop resin/oil and spices. The flavor is citrus, grapefruit, light tropical fruit, hop resin/oil/definitely a medium oily feel, malts, mild honey/syrup and a mix of bitter, fruit and warming alcohol in the finish.

Serving: 12 oz bottle (stamped "5/5/16") poured into an IPA glass.

Appearance: Clear, pale gold with a lush head of billowing white foam. A lattice of white lace clings to the glass and cap of foam keeps up through the last sip.

Smell: Citrus rind, pine, slight dank and tobacco.

Taste: A wave a juicy hops - tropical fruit, grapefruit, pine resin - dominates the flavor, with a core of caramel malt and herbal bitter finish rounding things out.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with some oiliness lending a fuller feel. Moderate but finely textured carbonation with a hint of alcoholic warmth.

Overall: Terrific hop flavors in a full and balanced DIPA.

L: Hazy golden orange. Very light and wispy head that was almost nonexistent, even with a pretty aggressive pour. Not surprisingly, there is very little retention except for little clumps of film in the center and a small ring around the edges.

S: Lots of hops and pine. There is also a dash of sweet grapefruit and citrus fruits and honey.

T: Follows the smell regarding the hops and pine. Medium bitterness throughout that I found to be very nice and it doesn't dominant the aftertaste. There is definitely honey as well, but not nearly as sweet as in the smell. There is just the smallest hint of citrus, but like the honey, it isn't sweet. The first signs of the alcohol comes through at the end to round out the experience.

F: Medium body with a good amount carbonation. Exactly what I'd want with the higher ABV. The feel really makes this beer drinkable and I could really see a few of them kicking you in the teeth before you know it.

O: I can't believe it took me so long to try this, especially with how accessible it is for me. Great hop dominated IPA without the overbearing bitterness. I liked the real subtle addition of honey and citrus. Definitely will be a go to beer as the weather warms.

Pours a crisp bubbly amber with a nice tan head. Head dissipates over time, but leaves a sticky lacy along the top.

Smell is a burst of tropical fruits and floral notes with underlying notes of alcohol. Taste had tropical notes with some noticeable hops, but not overly bitter. Bit of a pine and resin finish with some slight bitterness of the hops coming through. Really very nice balance to the flavors.

Feel is pretty smooth, decent carbonation with a nice medium feel to the beer. As for the ABV - I still have a hard time believing this beer is a 9%+ it hides it so well.

Overall, a really good double IPA - does a nice job of balancing the flavors and hiding the ABV. Top notch.

Poured into a taster glass.

A: Opaque golden with a thick one finger white head that dissipated quickly. Nice lacing.

S: Pineapple and honey dominate with some pine in the background.

T: So utterly drinkable. Floral and fruity with pineapple and honey from the nose. Light pine bitterness on the finish. The 9.3% sneaks up on you in a hurry.

M: Medium with medium thick carbonation.

O: This is my second favorite from Odell after their IPA. Could almost tie for taste. Recommended.

WOW!! A very drinkable IPA to the point where that 9% can be dangerous. Bought a 4 pack out west and was taken away by the fruity hoppiness flavors. The wife couldn't even put it down and she usually dislikes IPAs. Strong beer and will be taking a few 4 packs home when I'm in Colorado later this month.

L: Dark golden copper, significant lacing and a medium white head

S: Apple, pear, watermelon, pineapple, some honey in the back - also some alcohol coming in through the nose at the end

T: Some tropical fruits up front, followed quickly by some moderate alcohol, honey and hop bitterness, then ending with with some ripe apple and more hop bitterness

F: Wonderful smooth, slightly maple syrup like body, smooth carbonation, and some alcohol warmth.

Overall a decent DIPA.
