Notes: Not quite a stout but definitely no lightweight, Cutthroat is smooth and robust. Inspired by the classic London porters, we use dark roasted malts to create a deep, rich color and flavor that hint at chocolate and coffee. We named it Cutthroat as our tribute to the Colorado state fish – with its own rich heritage and unmistakable dark coloring. And while we’re big fans of small batches, here’s to the currently threatened Cutthroat population reaching mass quantities.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

L - Pours a dark cola black with a tinge of redness. About a finger of cocoa/off white head that dissipates quick and leaves a generous lacing.

S - Cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, soy sauce, caramel, slightly smoky.

T - Follows the nose with dark chocolate, coffee, cherry, slightly bitter but more on the sweeter chocolatey end.

F - Light bodied, light/moderate carbonation, smooth and creamy yet finishes more on the thin watery side. Makes this very drinkable but other characteristics make this very sippable.

O - A nice offering from this brewery. A porter more on the sweeter end but enough bitter coffee/semi-sweet chocolate qualities to balance it out.

Of all AMERICAN-brewed stouts or porters, this is the CLOSEST to the taste/flavor of Guinness Extra Stout (which I prefer over Guinness Stout).

Pours a thin, white head with some collecting in the middle. Dark brown. Leaves lacing.
S- sweet chocolate malt, nut, slight coffee and Carmel. Vanilla malt.
T- Smoke malt detected early. Roast coffee and semi-sweet chocolate. Brings bitterness.
F- Thinner feel.
O- more on the smoky, toasty and bitter end of porters. Well done.

Odell Cutthroat Porter, 5% ABV, 36 IBU. Pours dark brown with a 3+finger off-white foamy head. Nose is roast malt and slight chocolate. Taste follows, with moderate bitter close. A bit over-carbonated, so mouthfeel is good. Overall excellent.

A solid, safe choice at porter.

Dark brown with creamy beige head, sticky lacing coats the glass. Smoky aroma, peat, chocolate, coffee, burnt toast. taste is chocolate (semi-sweet) with some roast grain bitterness lingering. Halfway between a dunkel and a stout, this is very well crafted beer.

12 oz bottle poured into a Shaker pint, yields a dark beer with a medium head that fades quickly, leaving a lot of long lasting lacing.

At this cafe, the bottle was quite cold to start, so both the smell and flavor were muted. My overall impression is of smoky roasted malts. There's some bitterness.

This may seem contradictory, but this beer has a big flavor and yet is watery. I liked everything about the taste except the watery character, which I can't get past.
