Appearance: Amber color, clear, with a quarter inch of cream colored head that sticks around. Good lacing. Visible carbonation present.

Smell: simultaneously crisp and earthy, with hints of hops and pine. Aroma is subtle, but very attractive.

Taste: Earthy hops, rich, somewhat woody. Bitter end-note with a hint of citrus. Warming and well-balanced.

Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy carbonation. Not a heavy beer.

Overall: Good winter warmer beer. Not as dark or complex as some in this category, but it's earthiness makes it ideal for warming up after a day in the snow and/or mountains.

Pours clear amber with a one finger light tan head, which has very good retention and leaves sheets of lacing. Has an interesting aroma with caramel, citrus, and spices.

Has a sweet malty flavor, with a slightly bitter finish. There is caramel, citrus, spices, and toasted malt. More sweet than bitter, and the bitterness at the end of each sip is held in check by the overall sweetness.

Medium bodied with soft carbonation, and a more sweet than bitter aftertaste. This is one of the best Winter warmers I have had, next to Old Fezziwig.

Poured from a bottle into a nonic pint.

A - Pours a slightly hazy light copper hue, with an uneven, two-finger, eggshell colored head. Ringlets of sticky lacing. Good retention, as there was a light head down to the last sip.

S - Medium strength aroma of caramel, hop oils, fresh baked bread, and a hint of raspberry.

T - Caramel malt forward, but definitely enough piney hop presence to be noticeable. A few winter spice notes of cinnamon and all-spice. Hint of raspberry in the nose is also present in the finish.

M - Medium bodied with prickly carbonation. Slightly dry finish leaves you wanting another sip. Nice.

O - A nice take on the style, and I appreciated the hop presence on this one as opposed to strictly a malt/caramel bomb. Yeah, I could definitely do more of these.
