Notes: You know those epic days that start with an idea, turn into a dare and end with a great story to tell? This is the beer for those days. Crisp and refreshing like any respectable session ale, but a bit more hop-forward and flavorful than some. Perfect for going with the flow.

Odell Loose Leaf
*from notes
Pocked steady pure white head that rings over white gold. 4
Lemon zest nose with a bit of hay and herbal leaf. 4
Cream crackers, a touch of salt, then mild melon, lemon, and grassy hops. 3.75
Country biscuit and a hint of grapefruit to end and slightly tingly ending.
Light, crisp, flinty. 3.75

This is a solid beer, don’t get me wrong. But Odell maintain a standard, and there’s a lot of competition in this sector, so a watery, one-dimensional whack of Citra (if I had to guess) just ain’t gonna cut. Not to mention Brit brewers can do this same thing at 3.8%. Forgettably pleasant for a sunny day, but underwhelming. 3.5

12 oz bottle. Pours clear yellow with a big fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is bready malts with some grassy, fruity, spicy hops.

The flavor is bready biscuity malts with some fruity grassy hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice session pale.

Clear golden colored ale with a medium sized snow white colored head.

Smells of hoppy northwestern type hops with a strong pine scent. Little bit of a honey malt scent.

Starts out dry and hoppy. Medium level of bitterness. Taste is more willow tree and aspirin than pine.

Mouthfeel is OK.

Overall kind of a forgettable beer.

Poured into a 12-oz mug. It is very pale gold, slightly cloudy, with a small, airy head. The nose is pretty faint, but offers a light sweet malt scent with some floral hops. Fortunately, there's a lot more interest in the taste, with a good mix of floral, citrusy hop flavor and a clean maltiness. Light, effervescent body.

Not an exciting beer, and yet it is indeed highly drinkable and makes an excellent session beer. I could easily put back several of these on a hot afternoon, I think.

This beer pours a clear blonde color. The head is half an inch in height, and recedes quickly into a small cap of lacing. The aroma has some nice funky barnyard notes: hay, horse blanket, mustiness. The taste has the same funkiness, but it is much weaker. So weak, in fact, that it greatly detracts from my enjoyment of this beer. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Overall, this is an underwhelming beer that I will not be drinking again.
