Really love coming to O'Dells for their release parties, and the three options they have for sampler trays really give the beer drinker of any experience level something exciting and engaging. Recently they've redone their patio, adding an awesome gas fireplace and a stage. Can't wait until it warms up again and I can thoroughly enjoy the live music and world-class brews. Always something interesting on the rotating taps (A wild fermented mash that's allowed to fester? Yes, please) and on the weekends there's usually one of Fort Collins many awesome food trucks there for the drunchies. By far the best larger brewery I've been to. GO!

Odell's Tap room totally rules!

They nearly doubled the size since the expansion. It's a gorgeous building with tons of environmental friendly features. New Belgium gets a lot more attention by the average beer drinker but I've found the service and beer much better at Odell's.

The atmosphere is very easy going. They have a great selection including beers you can't get anywhere else. I love nitro beers and when I was there in June they had Cutthroat on nitro so I was in ecstasy.

When I used to reside in Fort Collins, I would get a growler of Cutthroat or Easy Street on a weekly or biweekly basis.

The brewery has lots of great merchandise. I usually pick up a cool looking Odell's item everytime I visit.

They have a wooden coin system where every time you get a taster tray you receive a chip with a 3 or 4 dollar value. You can either apply it towards merchandise or give it to their charity of the week/month.

They offer brewery tours but they can be hit or miss. I've gone on two. The first one wasn't very good. The second one was much better. The expansion they underwent is very impressive. They have additional space to drop additional fermenters and have easily doubled capacity. For all you Odell's lovers who are out of their distribution range, that might change over the next couple of years.

Visit Odell's if you can. Not quite the madhouse of New Belgium but a very solid brewery.

Odell has recently undergone a major renovation which included doubling the tap room and outdoor patio areas. Where it used to be a small, often crowded place to get a pint or sampler tray, it's now, well, still just as hoppin' but with more area to spread out.

The rustic/mountain-modern architecture is cool and there is apparently a lot of "green" energy saving features as well. They grow their own hops too and the entry doors have hop plants climbing up either side.

Inside, there is a long granite bar that serves as a place to pick up your pint (not sit down and enjoy it) and then you wander to one of the many indoor or outdoor tables. The patio is really where it's at. A great wrap-around stone patio with lots of shade. It's reasonably quiet too even though it's near the street.

The beers at Odell are fantastic. Their regular line up, which you can have on the 'pilot tray' are exellent examples of English/American styles - pale ale, porter, amber, and wheat. If you want to be more adventurous (and if you're on this site, you probably do) try their 'co-piot' tray which has a variety of one-offs and specialty brews. At the time when I was there, they had double pale ale, barleywine, American wild ale, and others. Great selection then, with probably about 15 beers on tap at any given time.

Service is reasonably good but keep in mind, just as with New Belgium, these places get crowded (even on a Monday afternoon) so don't expect a long thoughtfull conversation from the bartender on the hop varieties used in their IPA. That being said, they're usually very friendly and efficient at getting the masses served in a reasonable time.

Overall a great place and one I prefer to other craft brewries in town because the atmosphere and service are good but, most importantly, the beers are outstanding.

Went to Odell today for the first, and definitely not the last time. In spite of the fact that the visit was prompted by having to return a bunch of infected Bourbon Barrel Stout, the situation was handled pretty well, and we drank on the house for the day ... in addition to other wonderful things.

The brew list here, is exactly what the brew-list at a brewery should be. Equal parts Odell standards, and experimental stuff that maybe has a 1 in a hundred shot of every making it's way outside of the brewery walls. And for the most part, damn good experiments.

A: A touch cramped (it was the release of Mountain Standard Reserve), and a touch Mountain-Man touristy camp (not quite madahorn, but not far off), but all in all single-mindedly devoted to pouring, tasting and ultimately selling tasty, tasty beers.

Q: Odell beers are good. For all the hype, they deliver. Their seasonal and year round 12oz brews are, for the most part, pretty damn palatable (Isolation dominates), their single brew series (when not contaminated) is always interesting, and usually impressive, and they are always tweaking those recipes (2010 Mountain Standard is not just different packaging), woodcuts are ridiculous, and the experiments succeed more often than they fail.

S: They handled my situation well, and dealt with the crowd pretty well.

S: Yeah, so here's where Avery and Odell really seperate themselves from the pack ... the experimental brews. I don't go to a brewery to get what I can get in any bottle shop. I go there to try experiments that I won't come across for years, if ever, in bottle shops. Avery and Odell dominate in pushing the experiment envelope, and nakedly tossing their process onto the bar for all to taste. Bravo.

The best brewery to visit in Fort Collins. The tap room is massive and has a very clean look. Expect about 18-20 beers on tap to sample. All very good. At worst, you’ll have a solid beer. There’s always beer to try from the pilot system, which is a neat feature. The brewery offers a few snack foods, but a food truck does sit outside. Well worth your time to stop by if you’re in town. Wasn’t terribly crowded during the day, which made for an even better experience out on the patio.

My favorite place to visit when in Fort Collins. It is often the very first place I visit. I have been here at least 4 times, and every time is a new and unique experience.
Odells beers speak for themselves. My favorite is Mercenary and is always my standard for an ipa. At the brewery they have numerous other brews on tap that you otherwise would not find. They have ample seating, both in door and out door, and an extensive gift shop. It definitely is family friendly, and they do tours which I think are free and you get samples.

They often have food trucks around, and the food is awesome as well.

Next time you are close to Fort Collins, Odells has to be the first place you visit!

A bright, open, clean joint. Laid back with a chill, positive vibe. The set up of ordering with a cashier and the collecting your order down the line was kinda odd but whatever. The service was solid, with the employees having a general handle of the beers on hand and ensured things went smoothly and quickly. Great selection, all the staples that they bottle plus around a ton of pilot brews that are only available there. Kinda pricey, I could actually buy a sixer of their beer cheaper at Target than at their taproom. Go figure. Overall, glad I went and I will definitely be back.

Right down the street from New Belgium. I liked the atmosphere at NB better but this place has better beer. I would recommend getting a flight or two, depending on how many people you are with. I was with four people and we purchased 3 different flights and shared so we cold sample as many beers as possible. I thought the Nitro Cut Throat Porter was the best beer. My wife is a hop head so we purchased a growler of the 5 Barrel Pale Ale to take with us.

I've been here a many times but this is the first time in several years and the first time since they made the big expansion. The last time I had gone, it was still pretty quite, and they had just made the first expansion to the left. Man was I surprised when I pulled up to see what it has become. First off, it has to be the biggest tap room in Fort Collins. And it was packed. We are talking wall to wall. They had a small hippie rock band playing in the corner and I wish they hadn't, given that space to another couple tables. After ordering a couple beers and standing around for a while, we finally found ourselves a table. I really have to say, regardless of how full it is, I love this place. Their selection is always fantastic. They always have a handful of tap room only beers on, along with pretty much every beer they have out at that time. Between the group of us, we had Hiverano, Friek, Kentucky Standard, BB Oil Change stout and a couple others. Had Levity on nitro, which I think, is possibly the only nitro beer I enjoy. Great selection. I also picked up a growler of the Beet Porter and the Kentucky Standard. Like I said earlier, I love Odells. They just know how to do it right.

Odell's rocks my world! They are, and will always be, in my top 3 favorite breweries ever. They're all about the beer, and it definitely shows. Mountain Standard (a winter-seasonal double black IPA is, hands down, my favorite beer and the only reason I tolerate winter in Colorado). Myrcernary, an imperial IPA packs a punch, both in flavor and in ABV and perfectly showcases Colorado hops and Odells' ability to make a strong, yet drinkable beer. I would live here if I could, seriously.

Vibe — A nice large main tap room area, high ceilings, lots of sunlight, lots of high end finishes. Product and merchandise is displayed nicely around the building. Nice and open seating areas, never feels over crowded even when busy. Great inside and out.

Quality — Top notch, everything is always executed almost flawlessly.

Service — Quick, prompt, knowledgeable, and professional, can't ask for much more than that.

Selection — Always great, the core beers are always there and there are always multiple draft only / brewery only options on. A number of pre-set flights makes it easy to decipher and order. Great selection of bottles to go and growler fills are easily obtained as well.

One of my favorite breweries, can't think of many things that I would change, just great.

I've made two stops at Odell - both during GABF week in 2007 and 2011. My review is based on of the most recent 20011 visit.

Located in what is becoming brewer's row in Ft. Collins with New Belgium, Ft. Collins Brewing, and Funkwerks, one could hit all by walking and definitely by bicycle.

As of this writing, I've been to ~250 breweries and Odell is in my top 10. They are the second oldest microbrewery in Colorado (older than New Belgium according to an Odell rep).

From top to bottom, they have the highest quality and diversity of any of the local and even regional breweries. The tap room is incredibly efficient where you order a sampler and the counter and they have people filling orders around the corner.

My buddy and I shared the more advanced sampler and the oatmeal cranberry porter was one of the best beers we had all week including a hundred or so at GABF.

They've expanded considerably from '07 to '11 and still do an exceptional job. COME TO OHIO!!!!

This is definitely one of my favorite breweries. It's a small/medium size operation with a close, familial, intimate staff that is passionate about their beer. Our tour guide was hilarious and engaging - a great experience. If you are in the neighborhood, Odell is absolutely worth your stop.

Their taproom is one of the best I have been to. Not only do they have some of their classics on tap, they also have an interesting selection from their pilot system - some different twists on their usual brews and some totally different experiences. Most of the other reviews have hit the nail on the head. I don't need to add anything new - just another vote for the greatness of Odell.

Took the free tour of the brewey after having some great pints of IPA and sesonal offerings in the tap room. plus you can take your beer with you on the tour!!!! very good info form the guide of the tour all the way though. got to smell the acutal hops they used and see the barrel aging room AWESOME! The canning line is very high tech and got to meet a couple of the brewers. They were droping small hints of what they were up to but would not give details. Cant wait to see what the spring line could be? Overall the hour trip up north was well worth it. left their with a growler of naked elephant and a bottle of avent pech' only about $20.
