The place to go for craft beer in bar harbor. Draft list was about 20 beers with a mostly Maine focus, otherwise New England. Sat at the outside bar and had an awesome server. Been to about half dozen restaurants while vacationing here so far and this is the spot to go for anyone that is reading place reviews on this website.

Blaze is the place for quality beer and food in Bar Harbor. Their draft list is Maine focused with quality from Bissell, Barrelled Souls, Foundation, Oxbow and further on with visiting quality like KBS on a normal day. Bottle selection is quality as I was able to enjoy a Grimm Telekenisis during my visit. The food was fresh, original, and absolutely delicious. Blaze is a must visit when in northern Maine.

Solid tap list filled with Maine's finest (Foundation, Bissell Brothers, Rising Tide, etc.). Was excited to see KBS, FBS, and Imperial Biscotti Break on there as well. Food was on point as well. Got some Belgian-style fries cooked in duck fat along with some haddock tacos that were tasty. Best beer selection in Bar Harbor for sure.

Stopped in to have a couple of beers before dinner, ended up staying for dinner. We were sitting at the outside bar, with no expectations. The bartender was friendly and decently attentive.

The beer selection was pretty extensive, but not overly deep. The list did have a lot of Maine brewery beer, with a few others from nearby states. Most of the beers were summer ales and IPAs, with only a few other styles like sours and stouts. I decided to mark down quality more than selection for this fact.

The dinner was well done and completely enjoyable, although the dessert was only average and a slight disappointment on admittedly high expectations. Based on other bars I saw in the area, this would be the place to stop for a good beer selection, with hopes of grabbing something different.

Stopped in over Labor Day weekend 2013 with my wife and child.

The place is a poorly organized bar looking to present itself as a Gastro Pub. The food menu is overly ambitious and poorly executed. Service was lacking at best.

Having said all that, they have a GREAT selection of local and global beers. So, consider bellying up to the bar before/after dinner but get a table to eat elsewhere.

OK. Blaze is a new restaurant in the ever expanding area of Bar Harbor on the road that heads to the Jackson Lab. They do have 34 taps but the list that references the beers on each tap was not up to date and really didn't help much. In addition several taps were just listed as Geary's seasonal or Atlantic Brewing seasonal but there was no additional list of what the seasonals were. The tap handles themselves were not much help since most were mounted sideways making it impossible to read the beer they were serving. Finally the first two beers my wife and I asked for had been emptied but a new keg was not available and nothing new was going to replace it. We finally did pick out a decent Otter Creek IPA and a Peak Organic Pale Ale. Both were good.

We were bar hopping and only had an appetizer. We chose the Poutine and found it to be excellent. A very pleasant surprise! The couple next to us at the bar ordered a BBQ pizza and it smelled and looked awesome as well. Bar Harbor is packed with tourists in the summer but Blaze was certainly packed with diners when we left so apparently the food was pretty good.

They had some crisis in the wait staff while we were there and were switching bartenders at 8PM which made bar service rather slow but we decided that was the exception and not the rule. We hope to go back on a slower night when the bar staff could either change kegs or at least answer questions about which beer are actually on tap for the taps that can't be read.
