Lost IPALost IPA
BEER INFO

Brewed by:
Burley Oak Brewery
Maryland, United States
burleyoak.com

Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.80%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
We scrapped all of the traditional recipes, drank a few beers, and completely lost ourselves in deep conversation about the perfect IPA - the one we could drink all the time. We stripped down our preconceived notions of how an IPA is typically crafted and instead built a recipe that would be the ultimate showcase of the most expressive hops available to brewers today. We were lost...and now we are in love.

Pours clear, golden orange in color with 1/4 inch head. Taste is pine, grapefruit rind, and light toasted malt..Bitter, medium bodied with moderate-high carbonation. Above average and decent. Several other IPAs I prefer more. Not sure if I would get this one again, but glad I tried it.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a semi-hazy copper color with just a cap of a white head that slid into oblivion. No lacing. The aroma had some danky sweet onion to light weed and then some sticky grassy to piney bittersweet notes, nice and fresh. The flavor yields to a nice pure bittersweet blend between sweet to danky to bitter. Malt backbone coming out nice and balanced and clean. Semi-sticky notes of pine, and danky sweet onion rolls into the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium almost leaning towards the medium side. Carbonation felt spot on. ABV felt right where it should be. Overall, nicely done danky sweet and bitter AIPA that I would love to have again.

On tap at the brewery.

Clear golden color, 1F dense white head, lots of web lacing, bubbly.

Notes of pine and citrus with a heavy dose of dank. Moist and fresh dime bag scent.

Grapefruit, fresh citrus, pine. Dried malt.

Medium body, good carbonation. Malt solids with a smooth lingering hop bite.

Freshness drove this beer for me. Great aroma.

A nice cloudy but not too hazy gold with a head the dissipates quickly. Nose is just a little too dang for my palate, but it's compensated big time by the taste. Fantastic showing from Maryland.

16 oz. can

Pours cloudy hazy amber orange with a creamy frothy white foam head. Smells like peach, apricot, mango, melon, fresh berries, candied papaya, honey, wheaty caramelized bready malts, orange citrus, grapefruit, with sweet floral perfumey dank resinous earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like peach, apricot, mango, melon, berries, candied papaya, honey, wheaty caramelized bready malts, orange citrus, grapefruit zest, some soil, with floral dank resinous earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels thick, medium bodied, creamy and smooth with moderate low carbonation. Overall a nice juicy IPA.
