A - Pours a slightly cloudy orange. A bit of fizzy head that goes away real quick.
S - Smells of ginger obviously. Citrus hops, bit of caramel malt.
T - Strong ginger component. Hop bitterness, pale malt base.
M - Mouthfeel is really fizzy, and besides that kinda watery. Kinda like beer pop. Not sure if that's what he's going for or not, it kinda works in a funny sort of way.
D - Not bad

Gentleman Jim's real Ginger Ale... hmmmm, being someone who's made more than a few batches of home brew ginger beer, I just had to give this a try.

Anyways, it's nothing like my home-made stuff, but then again that might not be strictly counted as beer. The phillip's version is like a nice pale ale with a bunch of ginger in it.
It came in a 650ml bottle with a picture of Jim himself on the label. Apparently he was a boxer from way back. The beer is a slightly dark redish color. The smell is strong of ginger. The taste not quite so strong. The mouth feel is interesting, the ginger compliments the bubbly-ness well. The after taste is pleasant. Makes for a pretty easy drinking beer. Not bad, but not one of Phillips best.

Not the best seasonal form Matt as I found the beer to be a little average in the taste department. There is a fair amount of Ginger here but the ale base is just uninspiring. The Granville Island version had a much fresher and balanced version. This beer needs to be stepped up

Decent ginger beer from Phillips. Nice amber body with a fairly thick slightly off-white head. Malts, citrusy hops and a surprisingly tame ginger profile.
Ginger predominates in the mouth, but it as not as in your face as I would have expected. Somewhat of a "safe" offering as opposed to what I've come to expect from Phillips. Good, strong ginger in the aftertaste.
Still a nice beer to drink, but a little sweet. Almost a desert beer.
