Bottle: Poured a pale yellow color Kolsch with a medium size white head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light cereal notes is simple. Taste is also dominated by light cereal notes with a bland aftertaste. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. I could not have known this was a Kolsch had it not been specified on the label, I thought this was more akin a golden ale.

Bottle at Six Acres in Gastown, Vancouver.

Pours a clear, bland golden yellow colour, with a puffy but somewhat insubstantial head of white. Minimal lacing and very light body. Looks pretty standard.

Nose is light and flat, and pretty dull, all things considered. Some mild cerealy grain characters, and perhaps just enough organic crispness to pull it into line. But really, it's pretty dull stuff.

Palate is very similar, in fact, maybe slight worse. Here, what was a bland cereal character on the nose, has turned into a full-blown corny adjunct flavour, that leaves a slickness on the palate, and destroys any chance at crispness. It feels too thick as a result, while oddly maintining its dull thinness. Eh.

I mean, it's not a bad brew. It's clean and light and inoffensive, and it is drinkable in its way. But it's so boring... Yawn.

Appearance: Pours a nice yellow – quite pale, but still has some richness to it. Medium head of loose white foam.

Smell: Sweet grains.

Taste: More sweet grains, as well as mild maltiness, and a mid-low hoppy bitterness. A smooth, mild, and even sort of flavour.

Mouthfeel: Active carbonation, a lively brew in that regard.

Overall: I've never had a Kölsch, so I'm not sure how this stacks up as a representative of the style, but it is a rather nice beer. Very fresh, easy drinking, and laid back.

This poured a pale straw colour with a thin head that goes away pretty quickly. It has a grassy nose accented with what I perceived as pineapple. There is a grainy flavour to the beer with maybe a hint of ginger that comes off as slightly sour. And like that it's gone, no aftertaste. Ends a bit quick for my liking but could see it going down fairly easily on a hot summer night.
