Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Big and nicely booming out of the bottle. Pale amber with a faint orange color, and a bit of hazy to opaque body. The body color is made more difficult to see through by large amounts of really fine carbonation too. Rich and big off white head. Four fingers with ease and very fine bubbles. Huge retention and staying power with an excellent creamy top and island ridge. Solid and impressive looker.

That hop magic has me in its spell. Floral and perfume notes of citrus hit of solid hop goodness off the aroma. Mixes of tropical and a bit of dank and sharp earth even round out to bounce around. Excellent and complex and varied profile hop nose, with a touch of light corner store penny candy sweetness. Delicious.

Palate takes things a bit simpler. Very nice juiced and lively body, touches of a faint malt sugar and caramel make an appearance on the aftertaste. Creamed palate leaves a bit more malt presence but the hops manage to shine. Juiced earthy mixes of citrus and dank tropics really abound nicely, but with more earthy tones sticking out going for savory and rich as opposed to tropical and sweet. Smokey and rich flavors dominate and start to make a bit of contrast to the nose eventually overpowering much of the flavor.

Quite a neat mix, but manages to get just a hair out of kilter. Easily drinkable and enjoyable.

I don't see any date listed on the bottle or label.

Appearance: The body of the beer is very hazy with an orange and gold appearance. The head is thick and has very good retention. The head looks great with its pure white fluffy cloud hanging over the surface of the beer. It leaves good lacing on the glass as well.

Aroma: It has this strong savory garlic and onion aroma. It is very potent smelling, like smelling pure extract or oil versus something that has been diluted. The savory aroma is very intoxicating. Every now and then I get this faint whiff of what smells like mango flesh that pops in and out of the aroma.

Taste: That mango character from the aroma pops into the foreground immediately. The peach lingers on the palate and I get this light peach flavor every now and then. There is also this flavor that is somewhere between pineapple and tangerine but never really sits on either flavor completely. The aftertaste has a bit of pine and just a touch of grain flour flavor. It really is a fantastic tasting beer. It's one of those beers that really snatches you and you want to capture what you've tasted in words but at the same time you just want to enjoy the beer.

Mouthfeel: Velvety and sometimes silky smooth without feeling thick or weighty. I suppose airy would describe it well. It never feels like an 8.5% beer.

Overall: I was completely surprised at how good this beer was. When I smelled the beer I was given a slight impression at how good it would be but nothing matched how good it tasted or the drinking experience in general. It is a complex beer that is effortlessly easy-going and enjoyable. I highly recommend seeking out this beer and I would buy it again.

Pours into an impy nonic a chill hazed dull light to medium golden with a frothy bone white head that leaves a broken ring of lace behind as it settles pretty quickly.Love the floral and citrusy aromas, very fresh with an underlying caramel/biscuit sweetness as well.Sugary sweetness and tropical fruits dominate the palate,a bit of pine resin comes in the finish to give it a nice edge. It's sweet like many of the style but there is a great hop complexity to it as well.

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery "Quadrahop IPA"
gravity poured cask @ the Yards Real Ale Invitational on 30 April 2017

Notes: Hazy deep gold body beneath a short head of frothy-then-creamy white. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit, flowers, and some pine. The flavor is sweetish with tropical fruit (orange, grapefruit, mango, melon, lemon, orange, passionfruit, guava) but balanced - it's not all that bitter, but the strength is evident, and it all comes together nicely. In fact I'd say it's very nicely balanced to accentuate the fruitiness of the hops. It has a medium, dextrinous body that's almost medium-full, and a soft, creamy mouthfeel (although that may be at least partially due to it being a cask version). Very nicely done - a beer to relax and sip at rather than a more straightforward, bitter IPA.

Traded for this somewhat recently, along with another beer from Hardywood Park. I didn't know much about these guys before I had this beer but this was one of the more interesting and complex brews that I've had recently, which only adds to the intrigue factor here. This was easy to drink but at the same time, so complex that I had to take my time figuring this out as I let it warm up.

Interesting pour to this as the beer had a goldenrod hue to it with a *lot* of sediment floating in the liquid; but then again, this wasn't dated so I had no idea how old the bottle was. Plenty of head topped this beer off which was retained in the form of thick, dripping rings of lacing along the side of my pint glass. Plenty of onion, scallions, white cheddar, garlic, and funk in the nose as all of those were in the taste as well. Some mild citrus juice, floral hops, and grass were found in the taste, which rounded out a very odd flavor profile. Dry with a juicy mouthfeel, complex with a simple result, weak but underlying potent, this beer was full of contradictions but at the same time, everything meshed well together. Tons of citrus, spice, and earth combined for an odd result that was puzzling as it was pleasing and when the mildly slick mouthfeel and moderate carbonation were taken into consideration, resulted in a brew that was as introspective as any that I've ever quaffed.

There was booze in this, to be sure, but it never felt strong as the rogue's gallery of flavors were at the forefront here. Never have 4 hops been so divergent in nature but convergent when push came to shove. The bite, slickness, and depth all worked together but that was only for me. I could see how this beer would polarize others but I'll give Hardywood Park credit for going out on a limb. The result was wonderful but unexpected, which was not a bad thing given how many beers seem to mimic others. Worth a go for the anomaly that this truly was.

A: This poured a cloudy gold with moderate white head.
S: It smelled like grapefruit and pineapple and floral hops, with some minerals and mango.
T: It tasted like citrus zest and minerals, with some herbal hops and green mango. It had a clean bitter aftertaste.
M: It was watery with moderate carbonation. Decent body.
D: This was a strong IPA with bold scent and taste. I wish there was more fruit in the taste instead of just bitterness, but it was still clean and crisp. The body was ok, and the finish was smooth, so it was easy to drink. Not earth shattering but still very enjoyable.

Minty, grassy hop character with a lean, low flavor and aroma malt background. Nothing wrong with the beer but the hop profile was not my cup of tea and didn't align with what I expected given the lineup of American hops on the label.

Light gold to light copper in appearance with slight haze. 1 2 1/2 finger white, chunky head recedes leaving light lacing.

Redolent of citrus, pine, and tropical fruit with a syrupy malt backbone and a faint mustiness, along with some doughy bread.

Tastes of light sweet malt with grassy, tartly citric, and tropical hops.

Medium full in body and lightly crisp, but silky smooth with a sting of alcohol.

I love a good hoppy brew, and this one doesn't disappoint. Rather syrupy with a hint of cloy, but while it's a sipper, it's not difficult to drink.

Poured a golden, hazy orange body with one-finger head and lace ring down glass. Floral hops with notes of tropical/grapefruit sweetness comprises the aroma. Smooth body, the floral hop bite is minimal and there is a fruity sweetness going on here that is balanced by a dry, crisp, almost cutting finish.

L: Poured from a bottle to a tulip glass. Had an orange-golden yellow color and a cloudy texture. There was an inch and a half of foamy, long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.

S: A solid aroma of a lot of hops, citrus, a bit of malt, and pine.

T: Tasted of a decent amount of citrus notes (grapefruit, orange), light malt, a tinge of pine, a whole bunch of hops (this is to be expected), some tropical fruit, and a light bready quality. This is definitely a hop-centric flavor, but it's not overpowering. A big, complex, and well done taste.

F: A good amount of carbonation with a very lively finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This is an extremely likable, very easy to drink DIPA. Powerful and tasty.

Medium gold with a really good metallic hue. Smell and taste are good with a lightly tropical, mango, and pine hop note. Medium bodied with a very dry finish. Resin sweetness to it. A pretty hoppy beer.

Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is a slightly hazed, golden-straw coloring with a tall, bubbly, clingy, foamy, off-white head. Solid flow of carbonation bubbling throughout the body. Aromas of sweet citrus, evergreen and pine, grassy notes, and subtle candi sugary sweet notes. Very well balanced, with solid notes of grapefruit and orange rind. Flavors are citrus sweet forward, rich on lemon and grapefruit, with a solid resinous follow of pine pitch, bitter vegetal tones, and wet grass. Some subtle pepper spice highlights, as well as some evergreen notes. Very dynamic and balanced throughout, leaning slightly to the sweet side into the resinous and citrusy aftertaste. The body is smooth and oily slick, straight through to the slow, dry, lingering bitter finish. Solid DIPA. Very tasty and dynamic.
