A - Pours black with a big thick tan head.
S - Very nice aroma of coffee and vanilla.
T - Flavor is coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Well balanced.
M - Only knock is just a touch too much carbonation for me.
O - Very good coffee stout. I'd buy again for sure.

Pours a thick black color with a darker brown head, about a finger thick. Some nice lacing left behind on the glass. Smells heavily of blackstrap molasses and coffee, a little hint of chocolate. Taste is a little on the thin side, coffee is more muted than I would have expected, slight hint of chocolate, more primarily roasted malt flavor. Feel is again thinner, makes it a little too easy to quickly quaff this beer. Overall it's not a bad sipper for an afternoon or an evening to just relax where you want a stout but not a whale, however it's not worth purposely seeking out.

I found this beer to be thin, which is ok if it packs some flavor into a small body. It is thin on flavor as well. I don't get much roast flavor that you expect with big stouts. I also do not get much coffee flavor, which you expect with a big coffee stout.

Overall: just too thin and lifeless. Certainly not offensive, but not good either. There are much better beers for the money.

Look: Pours black. The head is mocha brown one finger of head.

Smell: sweet medium roast coffee dark chocolate blueberry vanilla light roasted malts. It smells really good.

Taste: Upfront I get that blueberry and sweet medium roast coffee middle of the mouth you get roasted malts more blueberry dark chocolate finishes with some roast biterness some booziness to let you know this is a high abv beer and a tart blueberry flavor lingers in the finish.

Feel: medium body creamy mouth feel.

Overall: I'm surprised how much blueberry I get in this beer it's actually the dominate flavor. Wish the coffee came through a bit more but still a really nice beer.

750 ml bottle, capped

Black in color, opaque, tan head, good retention. Nice coffee aroma. Taste is nice and smooth - not too much roast or bitterness. Full bodied, but easy drinking for the higher ABV.

Lively khaki head that riles up when poured. Black body with mild carbonation. Aroma seems more porter than stout with slight coffee, heavy roasted malt, chocolate and booze. Baker's chocolate, alcohol heat, sweet oats and toasted bread compromise the taste. Mouthfeel starts off really smooth and soft but ends with an abrupt thin and bitter finish. Great tasting stout with tons of coffee grounds that packs a noticeable ABV in a thin body.

Pours almost completely black, with a medium-dark fizzy brown head that burns away quickly. It still leaves small spots of soapy lacing. The aroma has nice subtle coffee, cocoa and roasted malts. The is good but backs off from the aroma. The coffee is almost non-existent and it's strongly roasted malt. It's a bit one note, although it is a good note. The body isn't quick as slick as the style usually is and has a moderate amount of carbonation.

Cousin hook up. Thanks Brandt! Into my tulip out of the bottle.

A – Black as night. Finger of milk chocolate head. Spotty lacing.
S – Coffee and lots of it. Light cream.
T – Huge roasted malts up front and solid coffee punch all around. Cream, vanilla and molasses. Touch of bitterness to finish it off.
M – Tingly on the palate. Medium bodied. Dry.

On tap, pours jet black with a half-finger of tan head. Smell is roasted malts, dark dried fruits and coffee, with taste following. Feel is on the thicker side of medium, but appropriate to the style. Really good beer, worth trying.
