two finger tan, frothy head with nice lacing on a jet black body. Aroma is clean but light with mild roasted malt, only a little chili pepper, with mild cocoa. I want more from the aroma. Flavor is not at all what I expected. The chili is very late and although it lingers for better or worse it doesnt really attack the palate. I want more from the chilis here. It really comes across as table pepper as appose to spicey chili peppery. There are notes of dark fruit, mostly some strawberry with oak and some roasted malt, Medium to full body and light to medium body. Oh, and where is the chocolate? I am not getting much from the chocolate but its there.

Pours with one finger of off white foam on top of a black body, the head fades slowly and leaves nice lace. Caramel, fruity yeast, and cinnamon in the aroma. Caramel, toffee, and some coffee up front. Lots of molasses and a touch of chocolate in the middle and a finish of spicy malt and lingering chili heat in the finish. A fairly thick body, moderate carbonation, and a balanced finish. Not bad, but a little one dimensional, not as much chocolate as I would have expected. I have had much better stouts from this brewery.

The beer is dark brown, nearing black and has nearly two inches of beige head. The aroma offers bread, roast, chocolate. Chilis emerge much more in the flavor, though not particularly aggressive. A touch of pepper heat in the finish. Peppers gain presence in the scent as the beer is allowed to warm. Pretty good.

Body is a dense mahogany, pours with a huuge head, overflowed from the glass after a few ounces poured.

Smells of spicy fresh garden veggies, lactose, dry cocoa. Pretty unusual.

Yeah...fresh veggies, lots of lactose, unsweetened cocoa, hints of coffee.

Super carbonated for a stout, pretty drinkable for what it is.

Ain't no Hunahpu's or Abraxas, but pretty good.
